Andy, that's a gorgeous Futura. I think that my RSV will be my last sportsbike and next time, I will definitely look into a sport tourer. The Futura is definitely high on my list. Yours in black looks especially nice. So far, I have written the Honda VFR 800. I wonder how the Futura compares.

Gone but not forgotten

Temptation in red and carbon fiber by vintagemxr, on Flickr

Couldn't resist making a contribution here. From about 10 years ago, my Aprilia Falco. Gone after only owning it for a month as jail seemed imminent. I traded it for an '01 Caponord which, while not as sexy, was more suited to my lack of speed limit discipline.

Well, it's that time of year again and in the spirit of the Holiday Season...

Wishing you all a very Merry Christmas from way up nearer the North Pole.

And across town, my brother ADV inmate Luppo Rosso, celebrates with a decorated 748.

His 3 daughters now insist he does this instead of a slightly more traditional tree.

Does this count?

Traded my '04 Moto Guzzi California EV Touring for this '09 Aprilia Scarabeo 500ie.

First scooter - this is going to be fun! It's adequately fast and pretty darn comfortable.

Back in the fall of '82 I did up my 860GT in red and gold with an R90S replica fairing and Marzocchi Stradas. Can't figure out how to link pics from fb, so this is the best I can offer.

A couple of Lavs, a Guzzi, and some fine modern Ducs on the first page. About the only thing needed to complete it is a Bevel. So here you are.

This had a nicely worked worked SS+ spec engine. Was actually the sweetest running Bevel I've ever ridden (about 10 of various types). Always a 1-2 kick starter, very reliable, comfortable, and nothing sounds better than a Conti-equipped Bevel thundering along through a wooded glen. Like most of my bikes, I sold this to a friend and can visit if needed

Thanks, Walter. You didn't live in Oakville, Ontario in the early '80's did you? A fellow used to arrive at the CVMG (Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group) meetings in Oakville on an 860GT exactly like yours. Gold rims, twin discs, Contis, etc. Even the colour was identical.

It's Italian. Seems right to me but I could be wrong. The Californian is on my short list of bikes to get. This looks lit could be fun too. If you're enjoying the ride and having fun with it, ride on man. I've seen some RR posted here on way smaller bikes. Enjoy the Italian scoot man. Looks good to me.

Wasn't me, and in many years of bevel interest I've never seen another like it. So it may be the same bike. As you know, people usually just leave 860's stock (GTS) or convert them to SS clones (GTs). It used to be pretty unusual for folks to put money into GT/GTS because they have always been at the bottom of the bevel hierarchy (despite being much better working bikes than roundcase GTs). Don't know how much the recent round case bevel mega-inflation has affected 860s.

I bought the bike from a person who lived in northern Connecticut, but don't remember how he got it.

One roughed up Hyper!

The full report is here; http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=933137 Last year I did this with a Monster S4. That thing puts hair on yer chest! At the end of the day I took that yellow ferry to Corsica.
