I'm new in town and I like it already! My '71 R75(90)/5 should fit the category. If not, I've got a Yammy XS400D Rat that is the very definition. Took a while to even find out what it was when it landed in my yard. Bikebandit is the only place I've found that'll handle parts for the old monster, and I have yet to find anyone who is familiar with the specific model.
Glad to be here! Roll Easy

Sure a /5 fits the category! How 'bout a pic?
Here is my R75/5 Toaster with a Dnepr sidecar. I sure could use those 900 jugs! I do have a lower geared final drive from a R50. That gives me just enough power to lug the hack. Other mods: I have a modified upper and lower triple tree that move the forks out 2". This reduces trail and makes the rig a whole lot easier to steer. I also have a sub-frame that the sidecar lower mounts attach to, and some other frame re-inforcements.

NICE sidehack, pfestus! Sounds like you've built a solid ride there and a sharp final product.
If this works, you'll be looking at a pic of "Black Martha", my '71. If it don't work, I guess I'll be looking at egg-on-the-face.
I've had it about 8 years and I've tinkered with it mercilessly. There's a long list of mods; some bought, some made. The bottom line is she's a blast to ride, she's alot meaner than when I bought her and I'll be riding and wrenching on this bike til I'm too old to twist a ratchet or a throttle. Far and away my all-time favorite motorcycle!

Have the alloy fenders for the Sherpa t coming any day from Speed and Sport, will make huge difference. Use the plastics for eventing and alloy for show and tell. Here is a link for Potomac Vintage Riders website, great club, lots of mx, trials and road rides. If anyone in the DC/Balto area have interest in vintage bikes come join us.

Just how many bikes do you have anyhow?

Nice meeting you yesterday! I hope we can get together for a ride sometime.

Not nearly enough, always on the lookout for a vintage britt bike and a bmw, oh yeah, need and Italian in there somewhere. that's the problem with having too much space, never get rid of anything.
btw, jim check your pms on bmwbmw.

I am new to this site, and nearly back in the saddle after too many years. I just bought a '79 suzuki TS250 and am in the process of fixing it up to be ridable and street legal. Does anyone know where I can get decent rear shocks and/or other parts for this here in the states?
