Here's my bike....

1986 R80G/S Paris Dakar. I got it from Bob Cox in Minneapolis in Feb 2000. He'd rebuilt it. Originally got it for a June 2000 trip to Alaska. Now has an Ohlins shock, Touratech bags, Rich's custom saddle, heated grips, Hawker Odyssey battery, tach, lots of nice little things done to it, mostly by my friend and metal-working wizard Dick Casey. Every once in a while I get a hankering to replace it with something more modern, powerful, etc. But I haven't found anything I like as well as this bike yet. (Currently a 2000 Cagiva Gran Canyon is "on test.") If the G/S had about 20 more hp and better brakes I'd probably be completely satisfied for life. Ultimately practical bike. I ride it every day here in Seattle, year 'round. It's my main transportation. (Our family car is a new Mini Cooper...the only car that would fit in our single car garage with my three bikes....)

Now, about those brakes and 20 hp....

old school or it's just plain old like me

r my 78 goldwing which is stock except for upgrades is ether old school or like me ,getting old. As for mods, single carb setup with VW bus manafold. electric fuel pump. No fairing and the normal old veter hard bags. It doesn't do the off road like your bmw but then again it cheaper to buy .

Here's a shot of my '67 Guzzi right after final assembly in 2003. From '88 to '94 it was my full time ride.
I ran an Eldorado for about the next 5 yrs. and replaced that with the '00 California Jackal which is mostly old school design.

Glad I kept the V7, it's still a great ride.

Does this one count?

Does this one count? Right now it is being run dailey, but who knows parts are getting harder to find, even from Kawy? It runs out at 124 mph with my fat butt on her and a cool day, but looks like I need new coils, and then it will run better, it doesn't like the hot days. It is electric and kick start and I always use the kicker, just for kicks, LOL. Not alot of people have seen them lately.

Well as of the 1ST of August this is now gone and I bought the 2006 KLR 650, and so far I am loving it completely.

Amazing condition! They still came with a front drum in '77? Keep an eye on the cam chain and it'll run another 29 years!

Hope you removed the add-on body piercing parts before taking it off road!

Well since there's another on here (how ya been doing yamahead), here's my... ahem... slightly modified RD400 Daytona. I'm kicking around here because Im interested in building a dirt capable GS or K based bike. Any information along those lines would be greatly appretiated.
