Apologies for the not so great quality droid phone picture. It's about 98% done, a couple of minor parts to come, and I've yet to check that the smoke will stay in the wires and it will start. No before piccy, suffice to say it was rather tatty and internally the motor was munted.

Just finished a little winter project.

81' Kawi 1000 Police Special. Wife got it for me on my 40th birthday in the fall and was told to get in the garage for the winter and quite bugging her.

JK. Hope it's old enough for the 'old shool crowd'.

Is that a strut/shock suspended seat and a traditional dual shock suspension? Interesting.

I like the tire choice, nice meaty and aggressive tread pattern. What tires did you choose?

Yup, they wanted to keep the officers comfy during their day at work so two sets of shocks. The seat shocks are on the lowest setting since I dropped the front forks about an inch. Keeps me from getting a wedgie.

The tires are just standard Duro's 4.10x18 with tubes. PITA to get the bead to seat but they are cheap and this is just the fun bike of my stable.

I love the $5 trailer taillight...I've used one just like it for years on a dirt bike..never had a problem...and beat the crap out of it....but it sure does look better on your bike

I like this one. Nice work. I've been saving for longer better rear shocks but a seat like this might give me just enough for the gravel and dirt roads I ride. Can you tell use how well it works with that set up?

I thought about using something a little more spendy but why. This one works, looks half ok and take a normal 1157 bulb.
