Great colour. Did you paint it, or is it original? Love the 500/550 single cams. Much more fun to ride than the 750's I think. I wouldn't change/add a thing on that bike, pretty much perfect the way it is.

'Aermacchi Michelina' , Gold Beach, Oregon
Although it is certainly possible to meander back and forth through the Ashtray Aermacchi thread, I offer a summary of how the 'Cast-Iron Maiden', Michelina, has changed in three years.
From this: ![]() To this: ![]() ![]() Now, finally, making her maiden return to daily riding dressed like this and named after my middle daughter, Michela, on Saturday 7 July 2012! ![]() ![]() ![]() What remains to be seen? I believe a different style seat is in the works, and there is the possibility of a 'pedestrian-slicer' identifying this as an Aermacchi rather than a Harley-Davidson 'Sprint'. What next? She becomes like the Garden Gnome that travels to far places to post photos of its adventure? Not likely now. In this particular case, The Cast-Iron Maiden, is going to have to find a new home (See http://advrider.com/forums/showthrea...tray+aermacchi for the reason!) I have to start all over with a Two-Stroke I can kick over, or find an electric-start machine that has interesting lines.

i bought a 76 cb550k new that year and drove it till 87. that entire time i lusted for a cb750. when i got my wish in 87 it turned out that the 550 was the better bike. the 750 was more at home on long trips and there were many but the smaller bike was the better all arounder. my 550 recieved the tank and 4 into 4 pipes from a 78 550k.custom by crash.

I'll proudly add my '74 KZ400 to the mix - even though I've already posted it in a couple spots.

I'd love to have a bike like that! Wow; and I already know how to rebuild that motor! Simplicity itself. Once rebuilt a 1600 in a gravel parking lot in the Caribbean. Pulled it out of the van, stuck it in the back of the camper and tore it down and rebuilt it. Got it back in with the help of a lever and a big rock. An awesome motor.

UBER FOOKIN FUNKY! I agree
![]() 1967 R69s, Kawasaki 900 Brakes up front, Glaser #44 fairing which I just found out is a " T S " model, tail section was made by some guy in Van Nuys Ca., has been in a garage under cover since 1984, he bought it from Browns BMW in Pomona Ca.. The guy I picked it up from was kind enough to tell me his time with the bike, what he did to it over almost 40 years he has had it. Decided it was time to let it go. |
