I think it would be great to upgrade the frontend with a newer generation inverted fork....
the original looks skinny

My dad bought it new and used it to commute to work on. It sat with ~10K on the clock from '88 until I got it running again in college, around '99. I learned to ride on it then, went back and forth to class on it. It sat again for a while, but I have it going again and just need to rejet it, put some new rubber on it, and get the title so I can tag it. I recently added the MAC exhaust and the dirt track bars.
There is a dent in the tank (not really visible in the picture) from the first time I dropped a bike...I was a kid, about 10 I think, jumping on the kickstarter and it fell on me

It would be easy to pop out, but I'm going to leave it for now.

Gotta get the the forks re-chromed first, or the seals will just get torn right back up.

You should see the dry rot on the front tire. It's at least 15 years old.

Anybody sitting on a Norton Commando has real class in my book.

The Commando is a bike that has that "soul", alot of people talk about on this forum.

If the tubes aren't too rusty and pitted, try filling the pits with silver solder. Of course, handle any rough edges.

when I was about 6 or 8, there was guy up the street that was constantly trying to kickstart one.

I heard it run maybe twice. Loud. RRAAOOOOOWWRRRR.
