(KS) Flint Hills 22-23 May

Up for a spontaneous rode trip?

Riding Flint Hills 22 and 23 May
Unfortunately I'll be out of town for the Flint Hills Stampede so my best chance to go there will be this week.

I'm off this Thursday and Friday and want to tour Kansas's Flint Hills using GPS routes other riders have given to me. If you are interested in a DS ride with me, please PM me and we can plan from there. I am located in Lawrence and intend to spend one night in the area.

Looks like you may get wet

sorry I am out of town and so behind on all the work I need to get done that I cannot make it happen, or I would have loved to join.

Enjoy the Flint Hills. I recommend stopping by the Tallgrass Prairie National Preserve just north of Cottonwood Falls. http://www.nps.gov/tapr/index.htm

Teeter Rock straight East of Cassoday is cool. Lots of cool roads all around there.

Steve attended the Sat.-Sun. class. I sent him a few routes so he should be prepared.

Thank you!

Thanks for the routes and destinations. I visited both Tallgrass Prairie and Tetteringville (Tettering Rock). The weather was great until about 3 pm and then I sheltered in Cassody for the passing thunderstorm. I won't be able to make the Flint Hills Stampede next week, but would be interested in joining another rider through the area.

Glad you had a good time.

Keep an eye on both Rideforum.net and Backroads Touring-Kansas. They post rides regularly.

Awesome! I couldn't make it last year so a bud and I rode from here, Manhattan, down to Teeterville and back up. The weather was just like today and we didn't run in to any rain. Some others who road from Eureka got dumped on along with a dramatic cold front. It's a cool area of Kansas.
