Next Weekend looks like non-riding 4 me

The roads you noted should be good to go - doubt you can go over Wolverine or the one between Pocatello and Chesterfield (name??)
I believe the one east of Fort Hall and east out Rich Lane would be good now.

Went out Rich Lane and over to Chesterfield resevoir today. Even dropped a line in for a few hours. It was cold and windy but the roads were fine very little mud. I'm always interested in riding the weekend!

We call that one Innman pass/canyon. split at the top goes all the way down the ridge to big springs camp ground down by Lava Hot springs still snowed in big time.

Haven't been east of Fort hall yet but I think your right it should be clear to Grays lake and The bone road. probably muddy though.

I just came back (Sunday) from riding some 40 miles into the hills east of Idaho Falls, past the Bone Road turn and following Long Valley Road east almost to Grays Lake. Totally ridable, though things get soft above 6400 ft. el. Kinda cold today. Lots of snow on the mountains. Wouldn't consider riding side roads yet, at least not alone and late in the day as it was when I turned back.

Best of all, the roads are native surface now. County gravel crews haven't ruined them yet.

Here's Long Valley Road, looking east toward Grays Lake and Caribou Mountain.

The section between Grays lake and Afton will be muddy, maybe even snow. Anyone been out there lately? I have seen snow in there 1st of June.

OOPs I meant Alpine, the range you have to cross to get to Alpine takes you over some passes that are sure to be snowed in still.

getting down to 34 and over to Afton is a probability.

You'd have to get through the mountains in the distance in my photo. The county roads will be cleared, but possibly muddy and soft in places. Forest Service roads will be a mess for some time to come. McCoy Creek Road would be the big unknown.

Yeah I would imagine McCoy Cr is still snowed in over the pass. I'll go any direction on any surface weather just has to be reasonable.

Looks like the weather may be a little yucky on Sat. I have the forks off my bike right now to re-do the seals, decided to do it right and put on the seal saver sock thingys, but they wont be in till thursday, so I might not have a bike to ride (says the guy with 9 other bikes to choose from...). *sigh*.

Todays little mess will not help the roads much and according to the 10 day forecast
it may rain everyday thru Sunday so Sat will likely be crap Oh well the joys of living in Idaho.

Everyone has their definition of fun, and trying to blow though snow like that is too much like work for me so. I will just watch the younger crowd have FUN trying that stuff. I will wait till its high and dry. I have enough stress in my life to deal with.

More E. Idaho Adv Riders

I know of 6 more here in E. Idaho riding dual sports. 5 of us just got back a week and a half ago from southern Utah, Capital Reef, Burr Trail and Hole in the Rock tour. Great Fun. We are also planning an Idaho Hot Springs tour July 21-24 as far north as Burgdorf HS. and Riggins HS. then south to Featherville and middle fork of the Boise river, back thru Sun Valley then trail creek to copper basin then home to E Idaho. Going to cover as much dirt as possible. Any suggestions are appreciated.
