By this definition my Outback 3.0R is not a wagon, since the rear hatch is nothing like vertical.

Yet the Outback "Station wagon" was the best selling wagon in the country for a decade, since there were only a few on the market. For good or bad it was probably the first "Crossover."

It doesn't help that Subaru calls some trim levels of the Impreza the "sportswagon." Is a Forester a station wagon? The new Ford Explorer?

Both the Mercedes R350 and Ford Edge would be station wagons by any measure, but are not called such by the manufacturer since "station wagon" is as nearly out of fashion as "minivan."

Don't forget that many of these 'station wagons' are classified as trucks to avoid CAFE penalties..

Our kids go to a YMCA summer camp (Coniston, in Grantham NH) and the parking lot is full of family haulers at the beginning of each session. The Honda Odyssey was the clear favorite, but the coolest car there was an all-black Ford Flex.

Come on...you're more intelligent than that.

The lack of one of the specs means nothing when every other specs are there.

It's why I said that YMMV.

I wish Acura would give up on that horrible grille design though.

The electric shaver look appears to be "in" with multiple designers. Can't say I'm a fan, but it's better than the look Mazda is going for. Every time I see one I'm reminded of this:
