We look forward to meeting you. The makeup of the get-together shifts every month - new folks show up all the time! We usually run between 6 and 12 people, sometimes more sometimes less. It's very loose and casual.

Ride if you can but cages work too.

And today is National Talk-Like-A-Pirate day, so that's just a bonus!

Damn it! Forgot all a out that.

Nice seeing everyone again, and meeting a couple guys I haven't meant before. Now let's ride. Post up if you're going out on a weekend and I'll try and make it.

Sorry I couldn't make it out this time. We left early for vacation. Up for a street ride anytime!

street ride sept 28 or 29

several inmates asked me to get up a street ride. I am going to get up a ride going into upstate sc and southwestern nc, around the jocasse lake, roseman, brevard , highlands area. it will be an all pavement ride covering mostly mountian roads with lots of switchbacks and bueatiful scenery. we will stop often for photo ops. we will stop for lunch somewhere along the route and arive back in the charlotte area around 5:30 or thereabouts. some of the roads we will cover are rt130, rt 107. sasifrass mt rd. , rt 178, rt 11 and some other connector roads in the area. I prefer a sunday the 29th but can go either day. ya'll chime in and let me know which day. we will meet at the BP station beside bojangles in gastonia off I-85 south exit 14 at 9:00 leaving at 9:30 sharp. look forward to a good group and a fun day. I'll ride my xr 1200r.

Another vote for Sunday, although either may work for me too.

Going to Philly for the weekend to pick up a car, can't swing it. What's new.

So we have three, and one out.

Be nice to ride with you again Evan, the RR trip was awesome.

Count me in -- rain or shine. I can ride either Saturday or Sunday; whatever works best for the group.

Fear the Turtle!!!

My brother was in town for the weekend on his HD Electra Glide Ultra Classic. He went over to the dark side a number of years back; having succumbed to the peer pressure of his fellow retired police officers. He sold his BMW and opted for the Ultra Classic in blue and silver metal flake livery.

We spent the day Saturday riding in the rain up towards Marion and Morganton and then Sunday riding in beautiful weather east of Charlotte around Lake Tillery, Morrow Mountain, Badin Lake and in the Uwharrie Mountains.

On Saturday and Sunday we saw five or six turtles of various types – terrapins and water turtles – crossing the tarmac. Don’t know if it’s a turtle migration or if it’s mating season and they’re looking for love, but they are on the move right now. Beware of and “Fear the Turtle” while you’re riding.

Numa

They've done the dirty deed, now they're looking for some place to lay their eggs. We get them around my house too.

New Charlotte rider

Hey guys. Just wanted to say hello. I'm new to the Charlotte area (and this board). I ride a WR450 for off-road fun, and an FJR1300 when it's all pavement.
I just moved to the area about a month ago from Phoenix, AZ. It's been hard to find time to ride due to moving-related stuff, but I am starting to see some free weekend days ahead. I am really looking forward to riding in a new part of the country.

It will be tough for me to do true adventure rides, since my WR is really only good for off-road riding and short stints on pavement, and the FJR is definitely only for pavement (with me on it, anyway). But I am hoping to find some rides I can manage here.

Also, the street ride this weekend sounds perfect for me, but my wife will be out of town with one kid, and I will be stuck at home with the other one. :-(
