The ride there usually isn't bad... it is the ride home that gets ya!!

Nice turnout last evening. A total of eight showed up for dinner/drinks. Met some new folks and heard some interesting stories about adventure/dual sport heroics gone bad resulting in wadded-up expensive German hardware and severed toes. Sweet!

My son and I would like to come to the next one. We're near Weddington and ride daily. I ride KLR 650 and my son, a DR 650. :)

Btw, I'm a native Charlottean. Somewhat rare these days. ;)

No shit! I thought New York City had reached capacity and they sent the overflow to Charlotte.

I heard that natives were referred to as "Charlatans" in which case you should fit in well with the group.

Just to be clear - I moved from the STATE of NY, not the city.

Upstate New Yorkers probably dislike NYC more than anyplace else!

Born, Hollis Rd. right across from the owners of South 21 Drive In Restaurant, then lived off N Graham in Derita, then Shannon Park. Went to Briarwood, Cochrane JH and Garinger.

How about you?

My son has been seeing a bike just like yours on 601 north between Fairview and Monroe, while coming home from work on his gray 2013 DR650. Might that be you?

My family has lived just north of Charlotte near North Meck High School for 4 generations.

Eh, same thing. I drove through NYC and took the Long Island Expressway ONCE. Never again. Saw the Statue of Liberty from about a mile away on some over crowded interstate and that was good enough for me.

I do want to go ride through the state and explore at some point though.
