if you're patient the wr250r's come up used now and again. there's also a bunch of klx250's that may fit your criteria better.

Newbie just joined up. Ive been reading this forum for some time I have returned to the Dual Sport world as I just bought a 1998 DR350SE a couple months back.
Just installed the new Pumper carb, Had my pipe modified and cut out my airbox top, per the Northwest DR Guru Jesse. Its now running great and only needs a larger tank and I may join you guys one of these days. I only have new Kenda 270s on kind of a 50/50 tire, so im not set for the deep mud.
I sold my 1987 XL250R in 1999 to buy a quad, so its been a bit of a lapse in the Dual Sport world. I have missed it every since

chances are i'll be able to make it take the wr out and see what it's all about!

Nice! Let's see a pic. I have the exact same bike, but I have not put up the $400 for a pumper carb. I have a Clarke tank. You can check out posts of mine in the DR350 Thread (de-purplification, carb, tank, bars, tool tube) ... I'd be very interested in twisting the throttle of yours to see what that pumper would do for me.

I just got it all done yesterday and went for a 50 mile street and a little gravel ride it sure runs nice and will even wheelie now for the first time in its life. I wasnt sure about spending the 450+ to do the stock pipe mod and the pumper, but I got a great deal on the bike and it only had 1800 original miles on it.
I read on the 350 forum many guys have 25000+ miles on that bike so I thought it would be worth it, in the long haul.
I work in St Hellens and I see you guys ride that area quite a bit I often look up there think n I should check it out someday

so does the ride leave at noon, or meet at noon

i have stock tyras, so will probably fall down a lot.

still have the stock tank, so maybe 100 mile range if i'm lucky.

It seems we hit the rode not long after meet-up time. Some get to the meet up a bit early if they want to have a coffee ...

We also make a quick stop at the Arco in Linnton for gas. So no worries on fuel range.

When: Sunday, 12 noon.

Where: NW Industrial Starbucks - 3275 Northwest 29th Avenue. Corner NW Yeon Ave (AKA Hwy 30) & NW 29th Ave. Left side of Yeon, as heading N. Make left turn at light at 29th.

IM OUT FOR SUNDAY I did one more change today, dropped one tooth off my front sprocket from the stock 15 to a 14. With the stock 15 60 mph was about 5700 rpm now with the 14 60 mph is about 6200 rpm. I may have to switch back and forth on the sprockets based on road ride or off road. Seems way better taking off on a hill but with the new carb, exhaust, and air box mod I may be killing my fuel mileage. I got a line on a 4.3gal Acerbis tank. I better opt out of the Sunday ride till I get the range up.
You guys have fun though
