Screw the Honda...

Just demo'd KTM 1190 Adventure (and 1290 Super Duke R).

OMG!

The 1190 is amazing, really works well, very well balanced and faster than hell. I could sell my track bike and use this, I kid you not! The electronics are the real deal too.

The Duke is all edge, 160 hp samurai sword. Hard. Stupid fast. It would be the fastest bike ever at Pat's Acres (and just about everywhere else on the planet!)

Want new Adventure, $18K. You only live once!

Thanks Gresham KTM!

Nice. Sounds like a pretty effective demo-program

Personally I would have liked to try one as I've heard they are awesome to ride. I guess I have more self-control than you Ken plus my wife tells me I'm shallow and I guess she's right as I can't get past the fact that it looks like a V-Strom.

demo day just a fluke for me, had make up my mind months ago and just stopped by gresham to look at their last one available. World works in mysterious ways. I wanted a 50/50 bike since I have the dirt spectrum covered. It's relative, but costs less than a new POS ford focus.

Ktm 1190

Those 1190's are awesome. Ran into a guy that rode his up to that B25 Liberator crash in the Pueblo Mountains down by Bog Hot Springs, that was a helluva climb to get up there and he was fully loaded, but ended up making it a day ride...from Hermiston!!! Couple days later ran into him at the Hells Canyon Rally, I believe he had over 10k miles already and was VERY happy with the bike. Said there was some issue with the air filter and possibly ingesting a bit of dirt now and then, but sounded like a documented fix (hersey, too lazy to look it up).

Congrats Dale (and Al...you know you want one).

Looks like a great "Camping Bike" as well

I forget who it is who's on a bit of a rant at KTM about his motor after the filter didn't get the job done. Cooking of legs seems the other big complaint. It might be this guy http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=976446. There's a more entertaining thread about it somewhere.

1190 filter seal issue...

Supposedly ktm fixed the fitment/seal issue in 14+ models, fiche shows different airbox part #'s from 13 to 14. Being the trusting sole, I have the unifilter set on the list.

Check out this youtube for some 1190 big bike maintenance entertainment , will make you go hug your little bike.
