We'll gas up at CJ's Chevron near Blue Box Pass on Hwy 26, and head out on Barlow Rd. where it leaves Hwy 35, just North of the 26/35 intersection. There are several "outs" along the way, if you wanna skip out early. You won't make it to Wamic and back by noon. But you'll be having too much fun by then, and you'll want to keep taking that "drug" all day.

Coming from Boring up the mountain how do I get to this ranger station. Can't find a friggin map anywhere.

Go South on Hwy 26 about 15(?) miles PAST intersection of 26 & 35 to HR. Still on 26, go past CJ's Chevron (middle of nowhere, we'll gas up there on the way back).
Go another few miles (over Blue Box Pass) to FS42 on your right (to Timothy Lake; sign will also say "Skyline Road"). This is a two laned paver you'll take to the intersection of 42 & 57 (57 goes to Timothy Lake).
JUST past that to the left (still on 42) is the OLD Historic Clackamas Lake Ranger Station.

I'll be out front with KaTy M. (Orange 990, with a big "DeWalt" bag on the tail rack)

Don't you Forest "Adventurers" have "Ranger District" Maps? YOU MUST HAVE THEM .
Stop and get the "Barlow Ranger District" map ($5) in Zig Zag on your way up. On your right in Zig Zag, they open at 8am. Timing should be just about right after that stop.

I don't use them much until I get lost.
But I really do like to get lost often, and I want to know where I was when I am not lost again.

Luck? My Water Pump just went out last week. You know, the FAMOUS -frickin/frackin'- 990 water pump .....
Got the parts, and spent ALL DAMN DAY yesterday rebuilding it (thanks Pyndon & CPModem & OC HOW ), so's I can properly test ride it before this weekend comes and it sticks me in the Barlow/Badger Wilderness.
