I built this beasty, from the ground up, about 12 years ago... out of misc. Land Rover bits. So... yeah... I guess it's a BITSA!
I fab'd and galv. all the bumpers, sliders, skids, rollcage, dash panels, floors, fuel tank, swingaway tire carrier, etc. myself. In it's stock form it was a 4 cyl., drum brake, leafsprung rig... back in 1965. It's now a V8, four corner disc brakes, four corner coil sprung, automatic animal. No joke... I've dialed it in to give early Range Rover / Discovery ride comfort, but... with better than Defender off-road ability. WIN WIN. It's been with me and will stay with me... and will be handed down to the next generation when the time comes. What was not fab'd by me... only genuine Land Rover parts had been used. I built it up to outlast me... I've no worries about that.

I made a new coil for my magneto.
..but 1st I had to make a clamp to hold it in a drill. ![]() ![]() Then put the drill in a vice to spin the wire around the spool. ![]() New coil for the magneto igniter.![]() Remounted in the stator assembly. ![]() What it looks like a year and a half later and still going strong.
