I thought about making something like this. My mental version has magnets inside the angle iron to keep the plates from slapin' around.

Yes the plates swing when hit. Here are some more shots (no pun intended) Whole unit comes apart, plates lift off of tree, tree lifts out of base and legs slide out of base to make it easy to transport and store.

Red Cat, none of the clubs around here will allow steel, they are afraid of ricochets.

jgrady1982, yes it leans forward 15° so that bullet and splatter is deflected downward. Should be at least 10°-15°

Would you happen to have a build posted on this carrier? I've been collecting parts to do the exact same thing on my Class A and am wondering about any issues I'll have with the parrallel links. And the recievers attaching to the under carrage of the coach.

If not a build could I bother you for some more pictures? Possibly in a PM? I've looked at my pile of parts for several years and someday I'm going to go ahead and start cutting out the parts. The wife retires next Summer and we're finally going to get time to get the old bus back on the road.

The targets swing back and forth depending on who shot them. The slot would defeat this. The forward lean causes the bullet fragments to angle downward as well as cause the targets to want to stay in the forward position.
