ZJ snorkel airbox

i had a '98 Grand Cherokee that i converted from 2wd to 4wd. one of the many little things i did for it was to install a snorkel. at the time, ARB (Safari Snorkel) didn't have a model FOR the ZJ... however the one for the Nissan Frontier fit the curves nicely. problem was getting the snorkel plumbed to the intake. i found the cure in the form of an ammo can i had in my shop and a few bits from the autozone shelf.

the important thing to remember is that the purpose of the snorkel is to keep water out. so "free flowing horsepower blah-blah" is meaningless if your intake was 2" lower than the water you got sucked into.

however, i would like to point out that if i wanted "horsepower" all i needed to do was to pull the lid from the ammo can. that setup actually worked wonders for my jeep and saved my engine twice.

i miss that Jeep... :(

My neighbor wanted a mobile rolling party bar for our periodic block parties. I cobbled this together using various bits of scrap and no real plans. It will have a stainless steel dry sink with bucket drain and pull out ice chest in bottom. Now my neighbor is adding LED light strips all around. The bar will be shared among 4 neighbors for various events.

All most done with my Teardrop. All mocked up, still need to polish the body (or at least try) and powder coat the rest. The body lifts up to hold an ice chest.

Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me, I want people to know 'why' I look this way. I've traveled a long way and some of the roads weren't paved. Hell, some of the places I’ve been there weren’t even roads!
