Joe Rocket Dry Tech Nano - any info out there?

Hey guys,

All I've been able to find here is mostly bickering about JR's poor quality. I own some JR stuff, Aerostich and Klim gear and have to say that the quality of each is quite comparible.

What's unfortunate for me is that the new JR stuff isnt coming to Canada... The US and Canadian JR companies are completely independant of one another. So, I'm having a hard time bringing myself to spend $700+ on the new JR Dry Tech Nano stuff without seeing it and trying it on, or at least seeing a review here.

There just doesnt seem to be any reviews out there. I've gotten a bit of info through emails with JR USA directly. I do know that its just an outer shell, no liner material like 99% of the waterproof/breathable gear out there. That means much less bulk and weight and better comfort. Also, that means any vents hit you directly, not flow b/w the shell and a liner. I've found that this ends up keeping a guy cooler than mesh in some situations.

For instance, my 'stich RC 1 piece is cooler in most situations than my mesh jacket as it funnels the air around my body, across my back and out the rear vent. The mesh on the other hand, wind hits my chest and my back is left sweltering in the low pressure zone with no air flow.

Anyways, I was hoping someone would post their impressions of this gear as well as some detailed pics.

Thanks a bunch,

Wes

Visited the local Joe Rocket retailer in West. Kentucky on Tuesday and
they don't have the Nano Gear yet.
Maybe Web Bike World will do a review.

Nano Gear in stock

I finally got my Nano jackets after having had the pants on the rack for nearly 2 months. I have not test ridden in the jacket yet, I will give a full report after my first ride. Overall fit and finish seem solid so far.

Would you be so kind as to post some pics? Preferably inside and out. How does it fit? On the large or small side? I'm right on the fence b/w L and XL.

Thanks in advance

Well, it looks like there is actually stock out there now. I'm waiting to hear back from a place on shipping then I'm going to order.

Has anyone bought from Speedfeenz.com? They seem to have the best prices but only slightly better than NewEnough.com.

If that is the case, I would go for NewEnough --excellent customer service (and 1$ of your purchase can go towards a webbikeworld review).
Can't for you to get this jacket so we can get the review straight from you.

Ya, I'm leaning towards NewEnough but if I actually get free shipping from the other place it'll end up about 10% cheaper... Thats quite a bit of beer. That being said, because I cant try the stuff on first, customer service is pretty important.

On the way...

Hey

I ordered the jacket last week and it shipped on Monday so should be here shortly. I'll post up a review when it arrives. Obviously it won't be a riding review since we're sitting at a balmy -29C with the wind this morning!

The real bonus was finding an online vendor in Canada, so no customs crap!

Hoping it arrives today...can't help but get excited for new gear, even though the riding season is a good 3 - 4 months away
