I am selling a 1996 KLX 650, the bike has been garaged and is in great shape for its age.
Its very big very fast with its 4 stroke and very fun. This is not a bike for the small!
It has a clean clear title with a plate number and with the Baja kit can be put on the road i have done the home work on this.
If you have any questions call Rodger @ 503-897-3339 please dont waste my time no trades unless u have a jeep cj7 u want to work a deal out. the price is firm.

He has been posting it fairly regularly since early last Fall. Probably because he has an $1800 price tag on it.

and I've liked these, but is that price a bit high?

XR 400 seems like it would be a perfect all rounder

"I am sure that the carburetor should be rebuilt."

Be careful on these. When I bought Tomato, the seller said "it needs carb work".

What he meant was "the carb has been f'ed with repeatedly by shade tree mechanics for 40 years and is complete junk and you will need to buy a new one, good luck with that".

There is a gasket-ish thing in there behind the fuel shutoff/reserve switch that is not available. Someone had tried to make one, and when the gas tank was filled, gas spilled out all over the shop floor.

Fortunately I was able to find a NOS carb on Fleabay that a seller in Taiwan had. So for $135 plus shipping that problem was solved. Now she runs great!

You can also just go with generic china carbs. Sometimes you have to change out or modify the intake manifold as well. Very cheap, possibly better performance, depending on the model of the carb. Not arguing with BS - Just pointing out for others looking at cheap Trails\Cubs - You don't have to go with an expensive OE carb.

That XR400 is about $1000-1500 too high

Looks about like a solid $1K XR in that condition. Keep dreamin'

Plated 400s sell for a lot more than 600s. Supply\Demand. He is too high, but that bike would sell for significantly more than $1,000.

I have my 66 Honda 90 still in the garage because of this problem and have yet to find the correct replacement carb and/or rebuild kit... but it is nice and shiny and yellow... just does not run... maybe by hunting season for now it makes a great coat hanger..

Here's my $150 Xr250 that may or may not run that turned out to be this xr500 for the same $150. Two hours of messing with it and it fired up. It needed few things like the Carb. cleaned and a throttle from Eric/ Braushausbeer. Thanks BHB. I ordered a rear brake cable from ebay and it came today now I need the little piece that the adjuster goes through and the wing nut to adjust it.
Oh yeah came with a title and plate associated with title so off pavement ride's here I come. Lights speedo and horn next.
