The fact that a euro shop has it and won't do the 2-3 basic things to get it squared away is a red flag.

I was courious too so I called, it is a consignment bike and the quote is 3k for the repairs if a shop does the work.

Still seems doable if a guy wants to do their own work over the witer (As I do). Other than the starter that list looks like maintaince type things that are well documented (Looks like Splines can be a big job depending on which ones they are talking about). I see a starter per ebay is $100 used, $200 new. Not sure if the maintainence plus starter, plus tires + BMW labor = $3k, or if there is some other issues as well.

Hope springs eternal! LOL

1986 Yamaha FZ700 Fazer - $700 (Junction City)

Was told the bike runs, but I never tried, and it sounded mechanically sound when I bought it in 2010(turned engine over).Has sat covered outside since, so there's a bit of rust and oxidation on it.The plates and bike are from California, and I found out right after I bought it that there was about $650 in back taxes owed on it before title can be transferred, so I let it sit because I didn't have the money.I have all the paperwork necessary from all parties involved (checked with CA DMV), so all you'd need to do is pay back taxes to get title transferred. You're welcome to put a battery in it and listen to it turn over(I sprayed cylinders with Stabil fogging oil to protect), or try to get it to run even.Call me if you want more info or to see the bike.Rick @ .

Damn Bigportions! You've been busy! Hope it doesn't take too much to get it back on the road (or off the road!)

Any chance he gave you the stock forks? IIRC it had DR-Z forks on it, if you have the stockers and are willing to part with the caps shoot me a PM. The PO of my DR mangled mine something fierce.

I am out, as I live in east county and can't locate a dozen PDX hipsters for the start sequence.
