Actually, that could work. In CA, PNO is the type of registration; it has nothing to do with the title.

No, I just have a friend in CA and we've talked about it. I was just seconding Luke. Luke has more experience with it I am sure.

Could be a branded title on the XT225. Could've been involved in a wreck. Could be difficult to insure. Thankfully the great state of Warshifornia don't need no insurance.

I moved up here from CA last year. The DMV didn't look at the CA registration. They just took the titles, inspected the VINs and gave me new titles and plates. They wanted money and proof of insurance, too, of course.

One bike was factory street legal, one was a conversion. They might have known, but didn't care.


I also have a bike that is still registered as planned non-op in CA, but that's because I have no idea where the bike is. I've still got the title in a file somewhere.

No guarantees of course, but both my and the local DMV's understanding of the law agree.


OTOH, there's a lot to be said for avoiding anything with goofy paperwork.
