I understand you skepticism, but it's legit. It has been a...(a-hem)...long term project. Perhaps an understatement. (see picture of VIN sticker...not that it's any great proof, but it's hard to keep them looking that clean with use)

My friend bought the bike somewhere around '95-'97. He spent 10-12 years finding the parts, doing the paint, etc. Some rough financial times for him led the bike to my shop where it became project number 803. I ignored it for four or five years until this year...I could use the space.

The rubber bits, etc. are in surprisingly good shape, but I'm not kidding myself...I know it will need bits here and bits there. I've been dealing with cars and bikes my whole life and know very well that they don't like to sit around doing nothing. The thing is...it's a very low mileage bike that has been sitting as opposed to a high mileage bike that has been sitting...there's a difference.

The tires are new, the battery is new, and the brakes are rebuilt (all three calipers and both master cylinders). I figure that's a good start.

If someone just wants a low mileage K-bike, I'm happy to dumb it down. I can keep the goofy gas cap, the muffler, the rear-sets, etc. etc. and lower the price accordingly.

2004 950 ADV $6500 Low Miles

He has this listed in the wrong place (under parts not bikes), so may not have the "hits" as others, if anybody is looking for one (Like I am) and has cash (Not like me). Nice looking bike, with low miles and good price.

Here is a preview of other things (along with the Buell that is listed) that will be posted on CL. The old beat up KTM fires, but he wants to get it along with the little choppers and pit bikes (not pictured) running first.

http://s1360.photobucket.com/user/PD...f1e5f.jpg.html

He wants $300 for the KTM and for the Buell Blast that is in pieces, and $250 for the Honda VFR700 motor and frame and is flexible on those prices.

He also is talking about having a "motorcycle parts garage sale" after the Estate Sale as there are boxes of mostly new parts, gaskets, cdi boxes, pit bike plastics, gages, ect...............I will post it up here if that happens.

have you heard anything else about this stuff??? it seems the CL Post is down?

He sold the Buell Lightning (to some kid for is first bike )
Someone is coming today to buy the KTM and one of the little bikes.
There has been some interest in the Blast and mini choppers but he still has those along with the VFR700 and a couple of pit bikes that he wants to get running to sell, or he may sell them as is?

Thanks to this thread, found my new bike. Talked to the owner for an hour about the bike...solid. Pick it up Tuesday next week.

Looking forward to the step toward DS/adv. riding apart from racing off-road.
