My vote really goes to the 490 Maico.

I am surprised that no one has suggested the early CCM with the BSA engine, so here is my contibution ...

Some really good examples

Wow. Some really good restorations and really good examples of "best looking" when it comes to styling and flow. Definitely good wallpaper material. Some other good examples of customs. It's nice to see a dirty dirt bike that looks like it's a utility knife yet it still "fits" in "best looking" because it's got good lines.

the thing doesn't even qualify for the thread.

the thread is best looking DIRT BIKE and that bike would get smoked so bad by a real dirt bike it wouldn't even be funny. or fair.

if that thing qualifies so do Harley XR's.

Didn't see this already posted, but yeah, I think this bike is the best looking dual sport of all time. If only for what it did.

I guess that if it can't beat a KTM 450 on a single track it doesn't qualify?

That would mean a lot of the bikes on this thread wouldn't either, especially something like a nice old BSA or Matchless. I think that that particular 800GS would actually be pretty good off road ... especially for the fast bits.

I think you might just be a tiny bit biased, especially as you haven't complained about the Honda Varedero (if thats what it is) above it! ... and remember its all a matter of opinion and I doubt that yours matters anymore than mine or anyone elses on this thread!
