Old skoolz

So after going through some old photos with the wife for her class reunion this coming weekend I was able to find a few of my oldie but goodies. TOM and JACK look away .. yes i was only wearing a wife beater on an RM 250...

The oldest is of my 92? DR350 and the other is of my 96 xr400 All of which were so much fun.. I would give anything to have a 92/93 DR 350 again. I just thought I would share with you guys a few from my past...

From an e-mail I received about it;

Come on down and meet some really big dogs of long distance riding.
We have riders coming in from NH, NC, Pa and Western Maryland,
just for lunch and a little tire kicking.

I saw it on the LD Riding List

"This RTE was originally scheduled to honor Barb Smith and Alan Leduc after competing in the Dover Half marathon. Since many LD riders will be in the adjoining state (NJ) for John Ryan's service on Friday I'm inviting any and all list members in the area to join us at noon for a celebration of running and life.

....and what is the LD Riding List?

...never mind, figured it out. I'm out. If, however, I was in, I would bring my Flying Pig Marathon finishers medal. My very own celebration of running and life.

We had great places like that to ride when I grew up during the Roosevelt administration...... I used to fly my 250 Elsinore in much the same fashion.... Usta died though.. now that Im 2x the man I usda be...

And for the record... I wore jeans, t shirt and sneakers... Always a helmet and gloves though...

Where pigs fly. Would I be imposing if I showed up tomorrow. Would really like to see bike setup, items carried and talk to LD riders.

I shouldn't think so - I've seen the event posted on a couple of different lists. Alan Leduc is a name in the LDR community, started the Motorcycle Tourer's Forum site/community, rode the IBR and wrote a book called Passion in the Wind about one extreme ride. http://aleduc.iweb.bsu.edu/iba/index.htm

If you're interested in LDR he's one of the go to guys.

Dave
