1. Not the original engine.
2. All new tupperware.
3. All new graphics- not matching the original.
4. The front fork and the rear shock have both been rebuilt.
5. Suspicious tabs/weldments on the frame that do nothing.
6. Modified exhaust- cut up, 2 into one ,header and new muffler tip.
7. Stripped bolts in elongated holes, and heavy handed work everywhere.
8. IMHO, These are all good things, but, it has been seriously molested.
Same old story " the rich get richer and the poor get kids"
HasBeen..that is often the case when buying used bikes...kinda like a "box of chocolates"....Never know what your gonna get I buy expecting the worse and go from there..that is why it is so hard for me to do a buy and ride! I recently discovered my RT had an uh-oh by previous owner which I was told nothing had happened. I pulled the left saddlebag to polish it up and Lordy...Roadrash on the bottom!!! not bad and not noticeable from the top or side. I had bought from Lone Star in Austin. They were not aware and had missed it when it was traded to them. They bought me a new saddlebag!!! These guys stand behind there products better than ANY dealership I have ever dealt with!!! I bought my KLX not running figuring I could part it out if necessary for what I gave for it. I have a little over $900 in it and it runs good!

I can ride Sat morning. Want to meet up in Meridan and get some video for the web site? We could hit the challenging gravel roads and water crossings around there. Yes, the camera is in a waterproof housing.

Discount GPS

FYI - Here's a thread on a company selling Nuvi 500's for $150.00 and free shipping. I just ordered one. I hope to hell this is a real deal...

Nuvi 500

This looks like the deal I've been wating for before I part with the coin for a GPS. Relatively cheap introduction to using a GPS on the bikes. Thanks for the heads up, Dahveed.

Sat I'm having some new Hyperpro springs installed in the GS (no, I'm not ready to tackle that one myself) and don't expect to have it ready until next week so I was going to ride Sunday. I planned on going up to Muenster on the 690. If you guys ride Sun instead let me know, I can come down that way.

A few hours to spend at night when you cant ride

I like this stuff. A loving rebuild of a KLR. I could not resist a hurrah toward the end.

I also am partial to reading the rebuild threads in the thumper section. I have gathered several ideas for doing a refit of my xl600 to offer better wind protection and add an oil cooler in the process.

Meet at the town square at 8:00 am READY TO RIDE. Maybe ride around and end up at the LC for lunch. Then split up and head home.

That work for everyone?

I'm thinking I'll ride the KLR Sat. Maybe I'll spoon on the D606s tomorrow. Maybe not.

Mudclod - that gonna work for you? Foto, you want to ride or meet up with us for lunch? Has been - early enough? Ghost, Big Dave, anyone else...

BTW Mudclod, I heard somebody else say the Nuvi's were sold out. :(

My GS is in the shop for brake work and supposedly needs a $1900.00 servo pump to fix the ABS system, hope like hell it doesn't. Anybody have a used servo pump for an 01 1150GS???

Enjoy some great BBQ at LC but I will have to pass. Damn.
