I did stop at a local meat market while in Dublin....picked up some summer sausage & cheese for our family get together today.Only cooked /cold wrapped meats to go as of now (besides the usual raw meat market selections) The guy behind the counter said they will have hot food "to go" sometime soon..... brisket,sausage,ribs...etc. (The cold wrapped stuff did look good though) wish I coulda smelled it....

Maybe a future posting on the Q thread??? we'll see...

Yesterday some riders and I made it out to the Brazos river valley, and in one word "DRY". With no wind we must of spaced out 1/4 mile between us the dust was so bad. One of these days it will start raining and never stop.

CFS smorgusbord

Thanks to SOG for recommending the LARGE chicken fried steak at Mary's in Strawn. I wouldn't have had enough energy to make the trip back home had I not had the option of eating the extra 5000 calories beyond the 2500 of the small CFS (which he discretely ordered and is shown in the background behind the tub of gravy). However, it WAS good... for the first 300 bites.

Was that all paved?

We were in Dublin yesterday to tour the DP museum, etc. 8 H-D's parked in the adjacent lot. Then lunch in Hico.

Let me know if you want some company on a similar all-paved ride and I'll bring the Ltd.

Still shopping for the KLR.

To TXjames

My test rider got sarcasm. . You know you NEED those calories to keep that big ol bod going . BTW ,what do you weigh with ATGATT. I ask because you said the Husaberg never bottomed out. Also brief comments upon reflecting on the Berg performance. Power compared to your magnificent Katoom, Handling, ditto. Brakes, I know you said the bike stalled in a few turns. Was that sticky brake or lack of rotating mass? Any other comments after thinking on it a while? I know; I know; fix the leckybut.

...I think I just hit upon the name for my next Roll The Bones ride....

Yeah...they were all paved...cept for a short stretch of CR4175.
Most of my rides are "all" paved....(& I say that loosely) Some roads...which slowoldguy refers to as "goat paths" are broken pavement,patchy,potholed....generally in not so hot a condition...But others are pretty smooth single lane superslabs by comparison. Check out the Hill Country Dirt Roads Google map for a big listing of my paved CRs.

Didn't notice any Harleys in Dublin when I was there around 11:30

...& the guy still hasn't made up his mind about selling the KLR.

But I do have info on a 2006 Electra Glide available with 9K miles...

Yeah, with so many other bikes to own, I can't really see having multiples of the same bike. Some people do, but I'd rather have a mixed stable of different bikes for different rides.

Goodness. When is it ever gonna rain? This is getting ridiculous. My 3 acre tank is down to about half an acre. Another week, and my fish are gonna have to learn to walk.

We were scouting some nice dirt roads this weekend and it is August dry out there.....in late December. Somebody needs to get right with the big weather dude. Somebody sacrifice a virgin or something.

On a more mechanical note, I have managed to eff up even more shit on the big ugly. My new used y-pipe? Well, it created such pressure with it's high flow air that it blew up (literally) my Micron ti can. Thelawnguy thought he was in a parade complete with confetti and streamers. Exhaust packing, baffle, and end cap all went flying out the ass end.

It is so freaking loud now but hey...it runs pretty dang good with a straight pipe. Who knew? So, I have to :

1) Find a new used Remus can designed to withstand the y-pipe (exactly what I just found Ghost. Grrrrr)
2) Ditch the y-pipe and go back to stock
3) Spend $250 building/modifying/plasma cutting/ti welding thereby transforming the Micron into a complete piece of shit, and then do 1) or 2) (above).
4) Get an ice pick and wiggle it around in both ears and never ride with anyone again.

Decisions, decisions.

To do list :

Fix new GPS I broke.
Fix exhaust I broke.
Fix stock seat I broke.
Fix electrical I broke.
Get another new rear tire to replace the one I shagged playing with new high revving racy y-pipe (that I broke).
Buy power commander 3 so I can blow the fucker completlythehellup this time.
To finance all of the above, sell semen straws to Artificial Insemination-ready parents that are eager to have an idiot child.
