If you don't know where you're going, any road will take you there.

Well shit, there goes the neighborhood. I guess this speaks well of the quality of Texas strippers. Can a Charlie Sheen move be far off?

I hope he doesn't start a new trend where a bunch of California people start coming this way and... nevermind, its already happened.

Kinda of reminds me of the bumper sticker you sometimes see in New Mexico: "I thought Texans were bad, but then the Californians came"

Well, SOG and I are in Junction tonight. It was a great day of riding. SOG has brake issues and I broke another foglight on a bump gate. Lots of critters out! Not sure where we headed tomorrow.

Ghost on llano cr 315 ghost attacked by hog. Lives to tell. Drag race to the 2/3 size cattle guard. Neither gives. Both catch air at 80. Both live to tell. ghost cooling heels in Threadgill Creek. t'ain't slick at all. sog learns new braking technique for dirt. No back brakes. Gee. That's interesting at ghost speeds.

Having fun. Cheated death again.

Rare Footage of SOG

Here's extremely rare video footage of Slow Old Guy on his way to work when he lived in Moscow. He was in a bit of a hurry that day...

That's certainly a fast dude.

Well, I don't think my chances at a Kenda ad are looking very good. I am shredding them. They don't look like they'll be on there long.

I don't think I've ever heard anyone getting a lot of miles on a Kenda tire, which is rare. You know there's always one guy out there that claims to get 12,000 miles on a rear of just about every tire made. He must really baby those tires.

Well, I cheated death again. And whatever ghost says is a lie. ;)

Had a whole lot of fun. Some real keepers in today's roads. ghost has today's pics. I think I took one. Too busy hanging on for dear life.

Lot's of things worked well. Other things? Not so much. But I set a couple personal records.

Note to self. Whenever you plan on a ride with ghost, bring at least one sane person along.

Thanks, ghost. Had a ball...too much fun. But really, buddy. You need to get some counseling. You're fuckin' nuts.

I thought you were the sane one Always making me run point so I get all the near misses with blue hair grannies running late for church, pigs, deer turkey...now ya know why I was trying to get that skunk to spray

Pics are uploading on my other computer, will post up shortly...

No mention of the Big Block I feel that is a record...750 miles to slick, least the front is good for another day or two

Hey. I had my share of animals. Your pig wanted me, too. And I had two flocks of turkey hens. But most of all....I had you . lol. And I ran point on the street. I just love me some dust. Yumm. Can't get enough of that.

As to the ex-tire...I posted that over in GSPOT.

Things that worked well.

1) Modified TT Sportseat - great for dirt. Great for hooligan street. O.K. for 350 mile days. Keeper.

2) My riding gear. Perfect. That BMW stuff is the nuts. Heated vest is tres cool.

3) Ram universal mount for the iphone. Sturdy, cheap, and infinitely adjustable.

4) Glove liners and Balaklava. Nice and removable.

5) Modified Micron TI pipe and exhaust wrapped Remus Y-pipe. That system rocks.

6) GS Adventure windscreen. Fantastic.

7) The roads. It's all about the roads. And we found some great ones.

Things that sucked.

1) The afore-mentioned ex-tire.

2) The iphone camera. The iphone screen covered in dust. Worthless.

3) The ATT iphone itself. Shit coverage. Ghost had 3g reception. I had two cans strung together with string.

4) Radar detector without eye level LED's. Worthless.

5) GPS on the dirt. Screen completely unreadable after a couple miles following ghost. Screen unreadable in any sunlight. Worthless. Marginally effective on the street.

6) My bump gate technique.

7) Ghost's bump gate technique.

8) Bump gates made to withstand a direct missile hit. If you hit one of those armor plated bastards going fast enough you can lift your rear wheel over your shoulders. If you use your bike as a bulldozer to push one open your clutch will smell like a cat on fire. No shit.

9) Cheesy turn signals that can't stand a little flamethrower exhaust. Melted that bitch.

10) Fuel mileage. 29 for the trip and that counts the dirt portion. lol.

11) My physical conditioning. 30 closed gates and I was plum tuckered out from getting on and off that giant bike.

I'll correct what can be corrected. And we'll go again. Y'all missed a rip-snorting Raid. We stomped on the terra. Big time.

Road Trip to Bump Gate Hell...

OK here we go pics anyone....SOG and I truly set a record on gates today...Wish I would have had the camera going when SOG show me his awsome bumpgate technique...For those that are not familiar with south Texas bumpgates...they are considerably heavier built than here...most were all oil field pipe and boiler plate steel....after I broke another fog light on a gate yesterday...SOG rolls into the gate at about 10mph and it did not budgehis rear tire lifted off the ground at contact
The Machines

day one...

315 below Llano

Sandy creek crossings with just the right amount of slick rocks

more sand

SOG on a crossing...

It was real dry....

Gate break

Kenda Big Block...wearin very quickly

one of the best roads...after we got lost....

the ghostride...

I bet this is real pretty after some rain

another damn gate...

Really...are we lost again that shit don't look like no road

SOG trying to confirm where the hell we are

pavement finally..now where the hell are we???

Tire check..Tourance with 500 miles on it...
Big Block with 500 miles...

rest stop and tire check....

MY GPS readings for the trip....

BIG BLOCK IS TOAST...less than 750 miles and smooth in the middle

Once SOG realized that the tire was failing...he went treatin it bad....He turned on the afterburner and melted his urn signal

I believe SOG also set a record for worse gas mileage on a GS....

I mean 29mpg!!!....course I only got 31.4
But hey..my tourance is still good for a while

Anyone wanna chaperone us the next time we take off somewhere
