It might have been deer shit. Damn animals need to stay off the roads, paths, trails, sidewalks, and other places I might want to ride...

Better, thanks. I'm now only using 1 crutch to get around. I see the doctor to afternoon.

Its looks like my 100 degree forecast will be spot on.

Like the rodeo announcers say: "Take it easy boys, that ain't all dirt."

Hope you're feeling better.

I finally got off pain meds last week. Should be able to take a dump any day now. Sure to be epic.

WTF happened? Last I heard from you, you were in Mexico riding the twisties. Now you're on pain meds and trying to take a dump. Story time...

Well, isn't that how it goes?

Took the New Road (built previous week) from Urique to Batopilas. Along the way we passed a D8 that had just ripped an uphill section. Picture 8-10" of loose dirt with rocks. While struggling with directional control (understatement ) the front wheel bounced off a concealed rock and I biffed at the edge of the road then rolled 30' feet into the canyon. 90 minutes and a few zip ties later we continued for another 2 1/2 hours into Bato. Needless to say I covered the beer tab that evening. The guys with me were great and I thank God I made it through with only 2 small tears in my shoulder. Was able to ride the remaining 2.5 weeks of my Mexico tour covering an additional 2800 miles down to Mexico City and back.

Pix and story on "Aye, Chihuahua 2011" thread, pg. 3.

Well, gotta go read the RR now. I hope somebody had the presence of mind to take some freaking photos of lifting you and the bike back out of the canyon and on to the road.

Glad you made it back!

You got that right. While the bike was rolling over me I figured the riding part of my trip was over. Then Karl slid down to the bike, stood it up and it started right away. Once unloaded it rolled up that 60 degree incline like it weighed nothing.

I will admit, however, that getting my gear on and remounting the bike took a little "force of will" on my part. 2 1/2 hours remained to get to Bato and I just focused on the rider ahead of me and throttled over anything that looked hairy. I was done with offing for that day. And for the rest of the trip.

These guys rode through CC about the same time though we never saw them. A really good RR.

Rick shared this pic of his biff along the edge. Had to step over the edge to pick up the bike. Wish I had come that close!

Schizz, glad you are alive. Jeez.

30' down in the canyon

That looks god-awful. I'll go read the RR's now. Ya got me thinking about renting a set of testicles and going back down to Mexico myself.

Thanks, SOG. From what I've read on this thread you have all the testicular fortitude you need to ride Mexico. If you have any doubts they will be gone after your 1st encounter with the locals who will treat you like a rockstar because you're riding your scoot in Mexico.
