Yup! There is a lot more water there today than the day we rode it. More rain expected tomorrow and Thursday. With the ground already saturated, everything we get in the next few days is going to be run off. Its going to get worse before it gets better...

Wow, those are some nice CRs. How far north of Austin?

I've been looking for stuff to ride west towards Marble falls/horseshoe bay, but nothing that exciting. I'm still trying to figure how to sneak into some old Arterial roads around lost creek and st edwards park.

Hey Moto,
These roads are in Bosque/Coryell Co. They're listed on the Google map from the Non-invasive thread.When you load the map(takes a while..hang..) go to page 2 on the list -Bosque 4180,4250,3137 Coryell 224...etc. (on the map The 1st roads listed are further south close to Austin...as yo go down the list roads get farther north.)

I do have some paved roads listed near MF & there are several gravel listed not too far from there.(see Althus-Davis Rd Video...from Eric2Tex-TWT)

My truck is tits up

not sure what happened, but check engine light came on and she lost power. Replaced fuel filter and had no effect. Its a diesel and will not rev up above 1500 RPM...will pull along at idle which means I came home at 42 mph

Was running good yesterday, never sputtered after any of the crossings and drove home fine afterwards...Wondering if Cat is clogged

Thinking I am about to piss off some treehuggers

My 93 TDM850 acted the same way down in the hill country back when I still had it.Would start & idle but not take any throttle.Had to idle back down the hills into town where I took it apart & found a loose battery cable.Pretty simple fix for me....don't know bout that smoker though.

Good luck with it. I'm sure you've forgotten more than I know about diesel engines. I hope its something simple, but engines these days are so complex that they have many things to go wrong. It could be a simple sensor that is malfunctioning.

I don't have a code reader for this truck. This was the last year of the old style 24 valve Cummings before the new ultra low sulfer motors with particulate filters. I bought this truck for that reason. This 1 ton truck with 410 gears gets 21 mpg most of the time...tonight its getting 9

I have ruled out the pumps I think, so I am inclined to thing exhaust restriction. Diesel burns dirty and plays hell on catalytic concerters...I think that might be my cuplrit

Several friends of mine have excised these from the system and benefited greatly...not gonna mess with it tonight in the rain so keep yo fingars crosssed

Would an exhaust restriction come on suddenly like this, or would it be a slow change in performance? Nothing like working on a car or truck in the cold rain late into the evening.

You've got some transportation choices, so wait till its warmer and dry before you tackle it.
