Lake Como
Awesome! But did you get to the lake from the Poughkeepsie Gulch side or the Silverton side?

poughkeepsie - we've done the hardest stuff that place has to offer, but we did it all on 4 wheels, which isn't as hard.

Poughkeepsie is a bit rough but easy compared to Schofield Pass

I guess I'd would think really hard before getting the adventure model again. I need to demo the bike some day.

Rode the Tiger 800. Wow, compared to my bikes, that thing was quick. Maybe the poor wind protection made it seem faster to me. I felt like I was holding on to keep from getting blown off.
Read a review of the Waterboxer by Helge Pedersen of "10 Years on Two Wheels" fame, he basically said he loved it except for the suspension, but that is his bitch about all the GS bikes over the years. He essentially pointed out that BMW uses the cheapest WP shocks out there and is vastly improved by ditching the stock suspension.

That's why I have Ohlins

Helge Pedersen is a paid spoke person for Touratech which have just introduced their own line of adventure shocks for the GS line. So he might be just restating the company line, but I think he really dislikes the stock shocks. I think he claims he's broken every one.

It seems more and more manufacturers are using crap shocks on their bikes fully expecting people to fork out big money for the upgrade later.

I want Ohlins, or maybe even Hyperpro if they make GS shocks, but I am a poor ass vagabond at moment, so stock it is for now.
