Help with dividing a large map into smaller map

I got this gteat map of the CDR from Bigdog, But it is too large to get into my 550 Zumo. How do i make this map into about five smaller ones so it will work on the Zumo. When i try to load it now it says it has too many waypoints.

Can anyone help? Here is the gpx file if anyone can cut it up. Or tell me how. I want to keep the waypoints. I just want to make it into multiple maps.

In Mapsource, Tools>Track Divide

That allows you to split the track into parts.

First off they are not really "maps", they are Mapsource (or .gpx) files. And we're not sure if you are talking about waypoints or track points.

I don't know much about Zumo's, but from what I've heard they will only take tracks or routes with 250 points. See what this file does. I actually made it for my old GPS V which I took along as a backup. The Zumo should turn the tracks into routes (from what I understand anyway). This is based on BigDog's file.

As you figured out, this gpx file contains waypoints(325), tracks(11) and routes(5). As biguns said, you can divide the tracks into smaller pieces. I would check your Zumo docs to see what the specific process is. Dividing tracks is a bit tedious and 9 of these have 700 points, one has 558, the last 466. Probably an evenings work if you're not expert on Mapsource tools.

I would start small and go from there.

Also, Countdown has the CDR already divided up in to 20 pieces of 500 points each. He keeps them on his public section of GPSXchange.

I think you can load my 20 tracks into your Zumo then convert them to Routes but I would just buy a 76Cx or 60 and ride with the tracks.

Just curious do you actually mean display and "follow tracks" on a Zumo or download them and the Zumo converts them to Routes then you "navagate" the Routes?
