Well it's no turning back on the bars....ha, pun

you can see the bends here...maybe

some more grinding to do, including cleaning up the casting.....

the plan is to use one piece of 4130 cromo to hopefully insure symmetry and cut them apart after fillet brazing

shop cat doesn't give a shit

Couldn't you 've straightened the old ones? It's doable, thats what I'm gonna do with mine...

Glad to see this post up again!

I could have I suppose. Part of the reason I'm doing it this way is to lose the bar-end weights. I'm kind of a freak when it comes to weight and replacing the bars will shed about two pounds.

Good enough! Did you cut them already?

Well time to dust off this old thread with some updates......

I had the bars brazed up....

cleaned up a bit........

and a little rattle can black applied.......

They're nice and straight and I shed a couple pounds in the process, not bad for $5

Thanks to my brother for the brazing

This whole project has been done on a pretty tight budget so in keeping with that theme I had a friend do the paint. He took forever but the results were worth the wait.

This was his first real attempt at paint but he's very meticulous and I knew he'd do good job. He only charged me for cost of paint too! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

These crappy pics don't do it justice.....must get some better ones

I never did get to the exhaust so ignore the rust for now. Time to ride!

That Bike Is SPECK-TACK-U-LAR!

This "rennovation" is amazing. The white on red on black was a brilliant choice. Distincitive and unique. Poupi LIKEY!
