changing spark plugs?
So I brought home a 2007 SilverWing, and now it won't start! It cranks like crazy, but no run! What should I start looking for, does it have a tilt/safety fuel switch? I didn't drop it, but I almost did while messing with the brakes and trying to see how tight a u turn I could do and where the hell are the spark plugs on this thing?
Stupid is as stupid does.....

Sorry if this sounds dumb and you know it already...but does it have a brake interlock? You may have to hold the rear brake lever in to get it to fire. It's a common DOH! moment for folks who just bought a scoot.

Don't forget to make sure you also have the Kill Switch set to "run"...

Simple stuff is usually the culprit, as already stated.
Kill switch accidentally flipped over, forgetting to hold a brake, trying to start with the side-stand down.... all can make you do the duh! slap on the head. Vic |

Starting
The Kickstand needs to be up as well
Right below your crotch is an access panel for the spark plug you need to lift the seat and remove two screws then it come up and out. it is show in the owners manual if you have one. if not you can go to the Silverwing forum and print one. I have a 2007 and it runs so well, so far and is so reliable I'm devoted to the machine and I have 15,000 miles on mine.

Yes, I know about the kill switch, and the brake lever, and the kickstand, but cranking is not the problem, starting is. It cranks like crazy, it just doesn't fire?
HELP!

It could even be a bad or stuck switch, not impossible for the side-stand switch to go bad. Also - and this may sound oversimplistic - but double-checking that it has enough fuel.... maybe your fuel meter is wrong. Vic |

Yes it has gas, that's the first thing I did! I checked the gas level, and even though the guage said it had gas, I added another gallon in case the guage was no good. Gonna pull the plugs today and see what they look like and whether they're getting spark. We'll see..... As far as cranking and not having spark, in my experience, the Japanese manufacturer's safety switches DO NOT allow the starter to crank.

Well, if you didn't do something stupid once in a while, you wouldn't be a human.

Ok, help me here , is there not three things that make this thing go. Gas, Spark and Compression.Your right get those sparky's out and check them and the compression. could the timing be fubared, it seems unlikely. This is one fine bike.
