PEPCO or BG&E? Equally worthless. They don't trim the trees around the lines like SMECO does. Although this time has been SMECO's worst effort in Calvert.

Less then 2 days without power. And you're complaining about the electric company. Unbelievable!

You think electric companies should keep enough crews on the payroll, and enough poles, wire, transformers, etc. on hand to be able to immediately restore power after a storm of this magnitude to everyone that lost it? My electric bill is high enough as it is.

Maybe you should move to the city where the government will be able to take care of you in times like this.

My power went out Friday when the storm came through and back on Tuesday morning. Considering the widespread damage, I thought that was pretty good.

Look at the photos I posted. That was one place with major damage to the infrastructure. Multiply that by probably thousands in the service area. In my short 60 mile loop this morning I saw at least half a dozen places like this that had already been repaired.

Most of us real Southern Marylanders don't complain a whole lot about things like this. We just get out the chainsaw and generator and get on with life.

You need to have a disclaimer before posting this stuff... I almost spit out my beer from reading while drinking while laughing. I had 42 facilities and 5k employees effected by the storm. I was riding from Leavenworth KS when it hit my Dayton OH site at 4pm. I tracked it on my phone thru 10 pm. That is more notice then a tornado. On Monday morning only one down, most relocated to other facilities to get paid. Very little impact... We were lucky. I thought it was a great job. Huntsville tornadoes 2011 was two weeks no power... Snowmagedon 2010 was two weeks fed govt closed. This was a blip compared to Isabelle 2003...etc. With that kind of past performance, have a plan, make a disaster preparedness kit, copy important papers, have cash on hand. Be ready to evacuate in 30 minutes or shelter in place for 72 hours. I tell my work that motorcycle trips are testing

My office...

REAL Southern Marylanders? Ok. My mistake for commenting on your post. Like the comments you made, your entitled to complain and say what you want, but don't put words in my mouth or tell me what I should do. After working the road through EVERY major storm to hit Southern Maryland for 15 years while you were at home. I'm allowed to my own opinions about the performance of both the electric companies and the County governments during them. I pay my high taxes and electric bills, Maybe you don't pay as much, so I must have higher expectations and expect a quicker response with The money they charge. So You can be happy with your 2-5 or whatever days without electric. I have friends and family with BG&E who still don't have electric. I expect more. Also my generator was working as well as my chainsaw. Its now working at a friends house.
