Hey Chhub.... you out there?
I suspect that when an orthopedic surgeon says the words spondylosis, stenosis and degenerative disk disease it's not a good thing. [/QUOTE]

That's what I have Jack. One down, 6 to go, everything from L4-L5 up to T11-T12 and one more up higher. Two surgeries on my lower back so far - the last one [fusing L4-L5] so I could walk again - and I'm going back under the knife in Nov to have the hardware removed. Do precisely what the doc says about movement, lifting and rehab. The nice thing is the new procedures that are available now that work better than they did just two years ago.

Man... that's quite a bitch 6!!!
Pain has been a companion of mine for most of my life.... Some debilitating and some just annoying. But you Sir have lived through a shitload more and come out the other side still fighting!!!!! You are an impressive person!

Awesome Mike!!!! I love the success stories.
I've had back problems since I was 16, but this one is different. It feels like my hip is fucked up.... I've had sciatica but only in the other leg and that felt WAY different.
I'm gonna have to stay off the dirt for a while.... Dunkle Hollow is responsible for the most recent flair up and visit to the surgeon.

Thanks guys. The worst part about the pain is the meds that I need to take in order to live a near normal existence.

The back troubles started in my late teens (racing), were increased when I got blown up (landing on my feet carrying a frull load out), followed by soccer in college and racing bikes. I've missed a lot of riding time recently while the doc's try to put me back together.

Once again, do what the doctor says.

Mike - sciatica can also be caused by movement between the sacrum and the iliac . The doc told me that if removing the hardware doesn't get rid of most of the pain that pinning the iliac to the sacrum is the next step.
