Hey LD... Will be up your way next year to ride the sled. Seems any part of western Virginia and West Virginia gets as much snow as New England on average. Maine doesn't count... More Canada than US

Here are some photos of the trip. The snow drifts were in some cases 5-6 feet high and most of the trails were wind washed out. I was crossing a bridge, missed the edge, and flipped the sled. This pic was after we (rode with 2 buddies) got the 500 pound sled back on the bridge. For sled fans. 2K Polaris classic two up with all the bells and whistles. This means heated driver and passenger, long trail track, and reverse.

Living the dream...

Another successful year of 35 fish caught and many friends and family hanging out on the ice. Typical live action shot... Fish on

Scotty, I thought you could appreciate this. Think hibernating frog... So how did this chain pickerel eat one? And the fish swallowed the frog feet first. I've cleaned 100s of these fish in the winter. A first for me.

Literally home for 3 days and now Packing now for Beach life... Leave Monday.

This year we only got a total of 50" so far ... ..Nothing like the other years ....

Great fish shots .. Well I wouldn't think that it would have been head first.!! But way wouldn't a frog be alive at the time :hmmmm Slow maybe but live..
I'm sure there are air pockets ..
And places in the banks that have air.
And yes under the packed ice and snow..

Just saying ...

Yes, an awesome RTE! Thanks for the great weekend! Cold riding! But not as cold as Goosecreek. Real men don't ride with heated gear! Goosecreek is a real man. Me... not so much, but still lots of fun.

Would have been freezing this weekend along side the other SMIBs if I didn't have to repack for another trip. So far I've hit 15 States. I swear on Smedley Butler's two Metals of Honor to be more socialable when I get back. Work is my Mistress and she is very demanding 1st quarter 2013 Not on the list for LF yet but when I get back, I'll know if I'm a definite. After riding with Chasey for 5K miles, I'll look forward to Camping with Paris.

Looking fwd to seeing you, have a great trip!

No matter how I beg... please don't let me give Paris a go. New obsessions are expensive.

Home

Hey just made it home thanks for the great time Scott and Mary . The ride home was great once I got into the mountians away from the breeze.
I stopped by Devils Backbone and ate lunch with AB13 ,first time I had thier smokehaus bock and it was tastey. Then we headed off to play in the dirt and rocks .
Not sure if I am a real man or real stupid, no heated gear is one thing but no windscreen that is insane. I thought my head was going to snap off when I was blasting up 64.

goose -
I was out yesterday with the new micro-wire Gerbing's jacket under a Klim Badlands and on medium power I was toasty at 90. The Beemer has a fairing and screen too, which also help. I was also running Gerbing's gloves (have to due to previous frostbite) and my fingers would still work when I got back.

Hey Mike. I do not think I can power all of that. Heated grips and a quick release windscreen would have been great. the only thing that got really cold was my finger tips. The tank on the bike is small enough that by the time my fingers went completely numb it was time to refuel.
