Yup, the match is near perfect! Although, when i look at the bike head on, i'm compelled to join the dark side and earn my light saber! LOL! I rode the bike home last night, it's awesome! The suspension is 200% better than stock, and the brakes feel like BMW. Looking forward to a few months in Mexico!

The whole tilt thing is just how things worked out with the quick hinges, you need to tilt it up to remove the box. I'm hoping that i can fit my tire kit and pump in the void below, or maybe some tools. There's still a lot of work to do, once i start traveling all the nasty stuff will reveal itself and like always i'll need to adapt.

If it does get damaged, Touratech makes a bracket for this exact application that's a little better protected than the one Ron made. You also have to change one of the rotor bolts off to a magnetic one. I used this setup for a while and didn't have any problems.

My bigger concern would be the disc, which is the main reason i wanted two. Not only do you get better longevity of your pads and superior brakes, but if you damage a disk, it's easy to remove and isolate, leaving you with one disk to get back to civilization.

I'm pretty sure Nordie meant the inside of the header not the outside ;)

Very cool my friend . I wish I had the skill and patience to build a custom bike. Maybe one day . For now I'll enjoy yours vicariusly. Still, Nothing wrong with my ktm , but not much custom on it.
