My vagina hurts. And it doesn't want to camp in the mud. I know it's going to be nice this weekend. But I bet it's muddy. I am not saying I am not going. Just bitchin.

I was kinda hoping for a little rain. I was informed the lawns look like hay fields (I didn't notice). I am allowed some ride time, but not a 2 day drunk.

Who is heading up Friday? I doubt I will if it rains tomorrow. But I will be up first thing Saturday morning. My liver can only take so much.

Anyone have a road worthy single bike trailer I could borrow for a few weeks? My sister wants to take my boy to KC for a few weeks from July 18th - August 6ish. I have to go get him. So I figured I would haul my bike out by trailer on the 27th. Then ride around for a week in Colorodo and then drive him back in the van.

As I type this I am already changing my mind. I should ride out on the 27th and plan a 5 day return trip by bike. Stopping at cool sites to camp and see things. Southeast from KC thru Nashville and then up Skyline. Camping in campgrounds or Hotels with pools. A week with my boy. I hope he lives.

Ok my quick fly and ride recap....

For starters my flight out of Wilkes Barre was delayed about 1 hour no biggie I had 4 hour layover in Philadelphia. I didnt feel to bad about that because the 7:05 am to Philly left about 10 minutes before my 1:16 pm flight to Philly. That flight had 2 mechanical problem delays. I get to Philly and find a nice spot to hang out. I got 4 emails from US air telling me my flight was delayed. Not a good start 4 delays in 3 minutes.... So now my 5:55 is an 8:30 to Houston. All in all I end up getting into Houston at about 11:00 Central time.

Brian the owner picks me up at the airport and we head over to the park and ride lot down the road where his wife is guarding the bike. He and I go over the details and do the paper work. We also go over all the extra parts and decide what to ship home and what to take. We get everything done and all packed up and I hit the road at 11:58 Central time. I figure being up since 7:30 in the morning an only getting about 45 minutes sleep max on the plane due to excitement/turbulence I will just pull over when I get tired.

So that is what I did I hit HOME on the gps and started for it. I made it out of Texas easy enough. And I made it over the Mississippi River (I was dark so I could not see how full it really was but it did smell awefull!). I was taking Dennis advice and stopping every 100 or so miles (ok normally about every 150 miles but the thought was there).

I stopped for gas and break somewhere in Louisiana at a dinner/gas station/ general store/casino at about 4 am and the place was packed. I grabbed a coffee and some gas and did a bit of people watching while I warmed up with my coffee. I think I saw the entire cast of Swamp People ( http://www.history.com/shows/swamp-people) come and go at the main door. Or at least people that looked close enough for me.

I made it all the way into Mississippi when the nap urge needed to be addressed. So I found a nice little rest area with picnic areas on a road around the back. I picked a nice sunny warm out of the way one and crashed out on the picnic table. See picture below. After napping and warming in the sun like the local crocs for bout and hour and a half I was on my way again.

2 funny things I was asked while getting gas on the trip:

First....Did the engine come like that or did you do that?

Second.... Why does BMW make their dirt bikes so big?

The first 12 hours I totaled 593 miles. That is the first 12 hours of both ride and ownership really.

About 850 miles in (just after my mental 1/2 celebration) the rain started. Nothing heavy just enough to be annoying. I was starting to get tired again and tired of the rain but was determined to push on get at least 1000 miles my first day. And that I did. I pushed it hard to get to 1087 for the day before the oncoming traffic glare in the wet helmet was too hard to deal with.

I pulled in to a little shotty econ stay place for the night. A quick shower, some dry clothes and about 6 hours of sleep and I was good to go.

Up and back on the road at 4am. The first half of day 2 went great always the threat of rain but mostly just missed it and got wet roads instead. The second half of the day was a bit different. I didnt seem as lucky missing the rain. I got down poured on a few times and go some big hail bouncing off me once.

One final 200 mile push at the end got me home in a total of 36 Hours and 29 Minutes. Grand total of 1653 miles. And I made it home in time for my daughters high school spring concert like I told her I would.

Now today put everything away and work on my Honey-do List. And actually I don't feel sore or anything today.

Hope to see you guys on the road some time soon.

My nap spot "ala Dennis" the other day.
