I cant believe the BMW dealer want $450.00 for a freakin light bulb, good thing i wnet to camp last week end.... haha

It could be, but I'm pretty sure it was closer to where I live. I don't think this track stayed open that long.

These pics are probably from '73? I remember lusting after that Elsinore in the one pic.

I know nobody cares. But now that I am bikeless I have been spending alot of time thinking about my next bike. What I want and what I can afford are 2 entirely different. I would love another GS or GSA. But I really can't afford one. Maybe it will be better by summer and it will be an option. But it just gets real expensive. I could have one, but I would not have money to do mods. Maybe down the road it will be an option, but not this year.
All that being said, I think I will get a newer used KLR thats been loaded with options. I liked the other one I had a lot. And I can afford to make it like my GS, but still justify keeping it if I got a GS. A KLR with Crash bars, skid plates and hard boxes would suit my needs for the most part. I just would lose my 75 mph plus cruising speeds. Which really isn't a bad thing. I was lucky not to get too many tickets on the GS. For around 4-5000 I would make a sweet KLR to hold me over until my money situation is better. Then strip it down to make a trail bike out of it if I get a GS. Or let my son use it when he is ready. He is 12 now. It would make a good bike for him to travel with me.
Here are my real choices in order of what I have been considering.

1200GSA
800GS
1200GS
800 Tiger

The prices get affordable from here.

KLR650
650 Vstrom
1000 Vstrom
V Max again

(this one bounces all over the cheaper part of my list)

Any other resonably priced bikes I should consider? Now if I get a local job that ties up all my time, who nows what I will get. VMax or some standard that is cool and could be used as a track bike. But for now traveling is still on my mind.

DL1000 and vmax. Combined they would be cheaper than a GS. I couldn't be a one bike person.
