I've got few pretty good flashlights, but the one that gets the most use is a Fenix PD20. One CR123 rechargeable batt, 190 lumens and the size of chapstick. it's always in my pocket, and gets used many times a day. Tough, tough little light.

I went from the CR123 battery format to AA for my goto light as I wanted to be able to use common batteries in case of an emergency. I do normally run it with lithium ion AA so I get full rated output. Those Fenix lights are tough to beat for the money. |

The new Fenix TK15 looks fantastic.
For a single AA light I recommend the Nitecore D10, its a pocket rocket!

After reading this thread, I bought one of the Malkoff 3-6D led drop in's for my 3D Maglite. The thing is a freakin' beacon now!

So after reading this thread i picked up 3 of em for 68 bucks shipped. I needed 3 so price was a factor. (1 for each car, 1 for the house)
This light. Coleman Bubba. 6 AA batteries (included) and boasting an impressive 165 lumens and a burn time of 37hrs! ![]() I gathered up my pathetic flashlights and did a simple test. Left to right....cheap Wal-Mart 13-LED light, Standard 6" (regular bulb) Maglite and our baby....you can see the scale. All lights have fresh batteries. ![]() In my backyard it's PITCH black out, this is from about 15' away. Maglite with beam narrowed. ![]() ![]() Wal-Mart LED light ![]() ![]() Coleman BUBBA! ![]() This is about 40-50' across my backyard. You can see there is still tons of umph left in this light....it literally looks like a car headlight. Hard to believe it lasts 30+ hrs. ![]() Great buy!

Streamlight...
I have one of these for my duty light:
http://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=45 I've had Streamlights for the past 10 years and they are great pieces of kit. I also have a rechargeable version that gives me 15000 Candlepower. Drunks hate it when they get "The Light". But they're great lights and have great warranty and service. C.

Is it just a hand held??? that sounds just silly... EDIT: oh... wait a minute that's 'candle' power.. not 'lumens'... it's about a 100 candle power per 1 lumen ratio I believe.. so that isn't that crazy... |
