I was just about to post a thread titled something like "Ode to the Streamlight Polytac LED" but I'll post here instead.
This light is a "tactical sized" LED flashlight that uses two Lithium 3 volt cells to deliver 120 lumens. How bright is 130 lumens? If you shut off the lights and shine it at yourself through a mirror, you won't do it again..... They are about $40 and when you consider that replacement batteries (CR123A) are $15 or so, that's pretty inexpensive. Run time is about 3 hours so this is for when you really need a bright light, not for taking a walk with the dog. I got the "Where is the damned flashlight" yellow, but it is also available in Mall Ninja black. Widely available.

Pelican 8060 LED. Its a bit long, but at 190 lumens and a rechargeable battery in it, and the fact that the maintenance unit I work in hasn't managed to break one, even after running it over with a truck and dropping it off an airplane, it's pretty much perfect.

Sweet... My non-Ti Mini123 is my favorite...
My only suggestion to 4Sevens: they should have a holder for your mouth for when you need both hands to work on something...that knurling is tough on your teeth... that..and the drooling... ![]() Did you see the next generation Mini123 they are just comming out with?? More power (new emitters)...same body! http://www.4sevens.com/index.php?cPath=297_429 |

an 86 CJ in 86 and an 06 last year. I must have a thing for buying just before the updated model comes out. ![]() I'll have to try the drooling/teeth method when I have a chance.
