Cry

Yesterday in a nutshell :

Get into the dirt in the mountains and gps dies,

Route ends at locked gate,

Alternate route ends at locked gate,

Backtrack about 100km,

Fuel pump issue starts again,

Camera battery died,

$20 for dead grass to camp on,

Snap tent pole,

Raw chicken schnitzel at pub...

Might just go home...

i Know how you feel.
Last year on my way to the OCR i lost a bag off the bike ... had all my cooking stuff in it ... jetboil and the like. had to spend a day at Cains to sort it all. On the way home lost my bum bag ... so it was phone and my Icom radio and other bits and bobs.
Lucky for me someone found the bum bag and posted it about a month later

2pm.. sitting on side of highway, waiting for bike to cool enough to ride 10km back to last town and call in the towtruck again..

Got 80 km out of Monto and bike started cutting out again..

Luckily there was a fuel place about 1km after it started.. put in 3.4l and got going again..

Got 25 km down the rd and its all over again..

Can't get back to Biloelia till she cools down a bit..

Will ride the 10km and call it in.. again...

I'm feeling for you GA......I'm not going to say anything about Flux Capacitors or the like, I just hope you can get it sorted soon and enjoy the rest of your trip, trouble free!!

Gees GA that's a shocking run, no luck there at all.

It is 911 today though, and in 2 days time it's Friday the 13th,
but then who's superstitious?

too nice

You blokes are just too nice. Bloody BMW should offer you another bike while they sort yours out. Possibly something a little more reliable. A Suzuki perhaps?

We have decided to reduce our offer for your 800 Greg. $4000 minus towing expenses back South.

Thanks lads..

Bike gets picked up in the morning and towed 500km back to caloundra where the headstem bearings got done..

Bought a map of south east qld / north east nsw tonight..

Now sitting in a spa bath in a BMW supplied motel eating cheap chinesse, drinkin red wine and wondering where I can go in this 2wd rental car that apparently arrives in the morning..

Rather be riding but.....

Oh and suspect going north is now prob off the cards since I've lost so much time (and still loosing)...

Oh well, the first few days were great.. hopefully I'll scratch out a decent ride home sometime

Just catching up after been out riding, but it sounds like when shit happens you are getting more than your fair share. Don't say I didn't warn ya.

Look on the bright side, at least your not on the hospital, Again, but ya it would be much better with a working, dependable bike under you.

Cheers,
J
