Big attachments

Use http://www.wetransfer.com
It's free and can send 2 gigs per transfer. Upload will take a long time depending on your internet connection. Sometimes hours....
Most e-mail attachments can't be more than 10-20 megs so that is only a few seconds of HD video.

Should give credit to my wife who came up with this arrangement! Thanks Dear!

Yes, big cost spike. I wonder how popular the bundled Remote will be as many people will just run the smartphone app soon. I hope the 2nd hand price of remotes plummets as a result.

IIRC, my HD Hero 2 came with just a USB charge lead; I had to buy the mini HDMI myself.
I didn't think there is a cost spike. The Hero3 Silver is the same price and basic spec as the old HD Hero2, along with the new form factor and some other improvements.

A big cost saving for those who use the camera underwater is that you no longer need to buy a new underwater housing for good quality videos, as well as standard wifi for connecting to a smartphone.

I got my Hero3 Black on Oct 29, am having some issues with the Battery BacPac and with charging (status light does not go out, sometimes hangs when removing the USB cable) that GoPro claims will be fixed by the next firmware update.

That, along with the user manual not being available and the support site not being set up for the Hero3 for more than a day after they were in the stores, makes me think GoPro rushed these things out the door to meet the XMas shopping season, and are letting the customers be the beta testers.

I plan to use the wireless remote on my Black edition on the handlebars to control the camera when it is mounted to my helmet. Not sure what that will do for battery life though.

This is not a bad place for the GoPro, mounted via the small bar clamp to my engine guard. Very solid.

There is a file size limit. Gmail limits attachments to 25 MB. It's best to open a youtube account and then load your video there, then provide a link. you can set the video as a private so no one can view it without you providing a link.

3 GoPros on a weekend ride

Finally edited the video of our weekend trip last June. Great to have multiple cameras but it sure bogs down the editing process...71 minutes 'o fun...the 4.5 gig upload to YouTube took a while as well...

Vegas Pro 10 using the velocity envelope feature, I think that one is at 24% speed.

Here's a recent vid that has some slo-mo

If anyone's looking for more of the adhesive like is used on the mounts, I think this will do: eBay Auction

I had removed a couple of mounts and destroyed the glue, of course, then when I went looking for more of it I was shocked to see how expensive it was. It looked like it was going to be cheaper just to buy more mounts, then I thought of online auctions.

Android app is out for the wifi back

http://www.androidpolice.com/2012/11...-gopro-camera/

P.S. Bugger!!! I loaded the app and can just turn on and off the camera, no settings or preview is available. A call to tech support, and I find out it is not compatible with my Motorola Razr, and they are working on a solution.

Got my H3 black yesterday. The low light video quality is freaking awesome. Took this picture on 30/1 burst mode this morning:

Untitled

There's a lot of features I didn't realize were going to be available:

1. Constant loop
2. Take pictures and video at the same time
3. Protune mode

Of course, since it's a GoPro, it needs an update out of the box to work with the new app. Supposed to be ready in December...I won't hold my breath.

A bigger main jet and a different needle profile.
Improves the bottom end considerably.
