Well I'll be go-ta-hell. Well it is -10 degrees out. I guess hell is freezing over. This makes all the difference. Yes, post up a review, boys.

There doesn't appear to be a size for the screen posted on their site, or I'm not seeing it. At any rate, it looks like a good size screen and much better than the one on the Drift HD. The only thing that would make this setup better is a remote control activation! Greedy I know

I just turn my Bug-Eye mirror up to keep tabs on the camera as it's mounted on the side. I'm too tall & the brush too low to put it on top.

Question other inmates suggestions on mounts to buy with the GoPro?

I am going to pull the trigger on the GoPro HD Hero for my upcoming BT2011. This new accessory for the camera is something I would additionally buy (plus a spare battery). I am thinking of buying the Naked version and buying the mount separately. I previously used a ball-mount with my Flip HD. What are other inmates suggestions on mounts to buy with the GoPro?
  • Handlebar Seatpost Mount $19.99 (is this what most people use? do you buy a couple?)
  • HD Wrist Housing $39.99 (much use??)
  • Suction Cup Mount $29.99 (any value??)
  • Roll Bar Mount $29.99 (on motorcycle crash bar??)
  • Chest Mount Harness $39.99 (most popular??)
  • Helmet Front Mount $12.99
  • Head Strap Mount $14.99 (off motorcycle uses??)
  • Tripod Mount $7.99
  • Grab Bag of Mounts $20 (Does have too much other items?)

Also it looks like the HD camera needs a class 4 SDHC card. Looks like typical prices are around $60. Anyone have any vendor recommendations?

Go with www.ADVdesigns.net Chad's a great guy to deal with, free shipping and free 16GB Class 6 card.

I'd get a tripod mount if you want to mount the camera on RAM mounts. A curved helmet mount if you mount it on top of your helmet. The Roll Bar mount might be too big for engine crash bars which usually have a 1" diameter, I'm using a bicycle seat mount for that.

If you can use a suction cup on your bike, you might want to go with the Motorsports edition, an extra battery and you'll get a 16GB card. I'd also recommend the LCD bacpac screen.

I used the Handlebar Seatpost Mount to mount my GoPro (nonHD) on the turn signal stalk on my lebben fiddy, like this:

I could reach it from the seat to activate the buttons while riding.

Getcha one of these for mounting with RAM ball systems, like GadgetBoy sez, to utilize the GP tripod mount: Part ID: RAP-B-366U; UNPD RAM SMALL ROUND BASE 1/4"-20 THR

Coupon Code

Anyone who is interested in getting a GoPro camera should consider using the coupon code gopro25 on BuyDig.com. You save 25%. I'm getting a HD Hero Naked for about the same price as the GoPro 960. I think it's worth it for the better frame rates on the lower resolutions which I plan to use most of the time, slow motion will look more awesome. Also, it supports that new LCD on the back and the 960 does not.

Anyone else know of a better coupon code please post so we can all get the best deal.

I just called Go Pro - is there phone system the shitest?

I was calling internationally and on hold for 10 minutes - hung up in the end.

There seems to be a consistent level of over promising with gopro.

Does anyone know what is going on with the company? It just seems like a lot of smart stuff takes years to get to market - lets face it they are all made in china so why the wait? (honest question)

If I could launch a VC buyout from here I would seriously contemplate it - gopro have a great product (by no means exclusively good) and yet the delivery is somewhat less than you'd expect...
