Netbook apps

Editing HD on a netbook is a nightmare. I used Quicktime Pro to simple cut a chunk out of a clip and scale it down. It was very chunky and slow. I can't imagine actually editing.

For the 960p, not the 1080p model, is there more of a light app which will still work with avcd format etc on my netbook?

GoPro mounts

Get the tripod adapter and then you can connect it to any standard camera support gear. I use a combo of RAM parts and a Manfrotto Nano clamp. Lets me put the camera anywhere on the bike (or someone elses) in seconds.

Dualsport Helmet Mount?

Hrmm....doesn't seem to be enough 'real estate' for the curved mount in between the visor lid and then a top vent on my BMW Enduro.

Not sure if putting ontop of the sun visor lid would be secure enough....but I have seen the Drift cam mounted on a sun lid.

It fits perfectly on either side right about where your jaw/cheek is. The camera just barely gets the visor/peak in frame

Guys this is my first feeble attempt at putting together a video. Any comments or criticism would be appreciated. It took about 45 minutes to put this one together using iMovie.

I tend to like the view from the chest mount, but still a great first attempt.

good first video!

minor criticism..... the camera needs to point higher, so the horizon is about mid-screen.

Hey, Trying to narrow this down to make a final decision.

I don't care about HD so much. I won't be making feature films or really doing much editing. I do hate the jello effect though. Does any camera do better on this than others? I just want a simple camera and I think the GoPro is it.

Which one to get?

I looked on Amazon today and the Motorsports Hero HD is on sale I guess for $239.

http://www.amazon.com/GoPro-HD-Motor...2622169&sr=8-2

I've read and read until I'm tired of reading. Is this the one to buy?

Thanks,
HFG

GoPro

If you don't care about HD and you won't be buying the LCD back pack or second battery back pack get the Hero 960. It still does HD at 1280x720 and does SD as well. It is on amazon starting at around 169$ depending on the mounting kit it comes with. I have the Hero Hd and I usually use the 1280x720 mode anyways. The standard def looks great out of these cams as well and takes way less space and is much easier for older computers to handle. If you want to check out what the 1280 looks like see the vids in my signature line. For standard definition take a look at the clips Sandpit 2 and Sandpit 3. The others are all HD.

Thanks. Those look good. I have to say the HD does look better. Might have to spring for the difference.

So does everybody still think this is the camera to have over the Contour and others? It seems really crude to me

Definitely spring for the difference for HD, you will thank yourself later. I like the GoPro over others because of it's versatility and now added Bacpac's. Who know's what will be next! Don't be afraid to get creative with the GoPro and use it for other events like family, water fun, shoveling snow:
