TE630 Centerstand

I am going to add the TE630 to the models offered. I hope to receive a few pictures of the 630 on the stand soon. I will try and get one down to blakebird's shortly and take a few pictures also.

Good news. What is the weight of the 630 stand? Any conflicts mounting with an Uptite Husky skid plate?

The stand weighs less than 6 lbs. I don't remember exactly. I weighed the 610 stand and posted it here some time ago but I don't remember what it was. The 630 stand is fractionally less since it is a tad shorter.

It appears that the centerstand when deployed may just hit the rear of the plate about 1/8 of an inch. the skid plate may need two little notches made for it not to touch. You will also need to enlarge the holes in the rear mounting plate to accept the bolts for the centerstand. Uptite provides bushings for the factory sized holes in the mounting brackets for the centerstand. You will need an 1/2" drill bit to enlarge the holes in the Uptite bracket. I went with 1/2" bolts because they fit the hole better than any metric bolt that was close to the size. A 19mm wrench is the correct size for the 1/2" bolt.

Cheers,

Mike

That's funny. It will not fit.

I keep forgetting that it is not snowing down under. It should have slowed down to where I could complete some new models. Australia is keeping me busy right now. It is your countryman's fault.

Cheers,

Mike

NICE!
Is it wrong that I'm drooling thinking about a new center stand for a 23 year old bike (Transalp)? LOL

I'll be in line for a DRZ stand

Btw given the number of bikes that you now make stands for, perhaps you should change the title of your post to something less specific than XR650 and XT225. I bet you would get even more interest.

I will make a real effort to get my hands on a TA so that I can get the last design issue resolved. Everything seems to be working well on the stand that is being used by csustewy on his trip through South America. The problem area is the clearance between side stand and the pressdown leg on the centerstand. Mike brought his bike over to the house and I was able to custom fit the stand to just gain enough clearance for it to work. It still touched when being used but not enough to hang up. Not all side stands are as sloppy as his was. When I tried the same thing on another TA the side stand hung up on the centerstand arm.

I could move the pressdown leg to the right side but there is concern that this might expose the rider to being burned by exhaust. And it is more convenient if it is located on the left side.

October and November this year has been very busy with orders for some reason. It should slow down now and I hope to have the time to complete the TA and DRZ stands soon. I think I said the same thing last year though. I will keep trying though.

Mike

I have though about that. I have not followed up on it though since I have as much work as I am willing to do. If I changed it too soon and you are right I will never find time to complete the TA and DRZ. When the demand slows down to the point I need more to do I will request that it be changed or start a new thread.

Thanks,

Mike
