Prepare for Adventure in Patagonia: MotoQuest´s weekly Newsletter

Prepare for Adventure in Patagonia

When you hear the word Patagonia, you probably think of outdoor clothing, but let me tell you that Patagonia is a dream destination! Hello again! It's me, Phil Freeman, and I would like to tell you all about our MotoQuest Motorcycle Adventures in Patagonia.

Riding the Andes between Argentina and Chile is always a treat and offers such a variety of weather, road conditions and scenery. There is a "sweet spot" known as the Lakes District that lies basically between Osorno, Chile and Bariloche, Argentina that rises above the rest. It is home to numerous large fresh-water lakes, rivers, mountains and hot springs.

During our Northern Patagonia Adventure, you will get the chance to experience both the Chilean and Argentinian side of this outdoor paradise. You will even get a chance to see some penguins on the island of Chiloe, right on the Pacific Coast! Our Northern Patagonia Adventure features 40% dirt surfaces and great accommodations. This is a 10-day ride that is perfect for adventurous couples and will leave you breathless. If you've always wanted to explore around Bariloche, then this is the trip for you. We spend two nights there.

On the flip side, if you are interested in rugged adventure and a sense of accomplishment, consider our Patagonia End of the Earth Adventure. This 17-day ride takes you all the way to the end of the South American Continent at Ushuaia. Along the way, you will ride in and out of Chile and Argentina 6 times, riding 40% gravel surfaces, and passing epic mountains, countless rivers, gauchos, glaciers and even crossing onto famed Tierra Del Fuego Island. Nothing compares to the feeling you get when you are standing at the terminus of Ruta 3 (National Route 3) and staring south to Antarctica!

Both rides offer extraordinary experiences. Northern Patagonia or End of the Earth Adventure, the choice is yours.

What can be better than being at the Isle of Man during the Isle of Man TT races? Just ask MotoQuest guides Lynn Brown and Simon Siggs. Read all about their experiences on the Isle of Man Motorcycle Adventure on the MotoQuest blog here.

We just got word that MotoQuest guide Dan Patino and his group of two-wheeled bandits were the first organized motorcycle group to make it up the Dalton Highway, which had been previously closed due to flooding. Congrats on soldiering through the weather and conditions, that's what motorcycle adventures are all about! Check out Dan's updates on the Alaska Prudhoe Bay Adventure on the MotoQuest blog.

Our MotoQuest Renter of the Week is Gang Zhou (aka "Shanghai Guy") from China. Gang Zhou rented a Harley Switchback from our Anchorage shop and headed to the Alaska HOG rally in Fairbanks. Enjoy the ride!
