Bluhduh elite 150 problem

I'm new to this forum and I've gotten a lot of great info. looking to see if anyone with a Honda Elite CH150 can test some thing on their scooter. I have an 87 and when I put the scooter on the center stand and grab the back wheel, there seems top be some lateral movement. It's not the wheel, it's the whole engine/transmission. I've checked the engine hanger bolts and they are torqued at the right spec. 30LBS. Is this slight side movement normal? thanks

Sideways play at the rear wheel

Just went out into my c-c-cold garage and checked my '87 Elite 150, and there's no sideways play in the rear wheel/swingarm assembly whatsoever.

How many miles does your Elite have? I'm still under 3000. How much sideways play is evident at the rear wheel?

My first thought would be that your "swingarm" bushing is worn. You may also want to check your shock mounting bolts (upper and lower), but I'm not sure if those being loose would contribute much to the problem you mentioned. The lower shock mounting bolt on the right side will be hard to inspect without removing your muffler, so you may want to seek another opinion before going to all that trouble. Let me know if you have any other questions, and I'll be happy to give you my two cents worth.

Thanks for the info. The scooter has only 5k mikes. I'll check all the bolts.

Useful diagram

Just FYI, here's a diagram of your swingarm/crankcase bushings.

It looks like the bushing for the engine hanger may be shot. Thanks again for your help.

Honda Elite Ch150 & 250 ( 1985 )

I have worked a many of these ole tanks. I have 150 + 250.
I had all panels sprayed ( painted ) by LineX as well as spraying rubber coating on back side of old panel. Makes them much stronger and maintenance free. I re-dyed all exterior plastic and rubber with Renew Protect (.com)... even seat and grips.
Any one found performance cams for these old GY6?
