Lol! - But I'm sure rusty old mining equipment has a charm of it's own too.

..and thanks, I will do my best to keep posting as long as I feel I am not boring too many folk.

Lol! ....and granny is looking very 'sprightly' for her years. 'Nice one' bubu. ....and not to worry, - the new season will be around before you know it. As you get older time seems to speed up.

...Our Sunday rideout was bit different this week, it turned into a 'ride n fly' excursion.

It's a bit weird when you leave Glasgow on a gixxer...and come back in a 'chopper'.

My ride back :-

I think I'll just lie here for a while...well, it was a nice sunny spot...

Hi Seb, I am ok thanks, I've felt better, but basically ok.

Long story short :-

Downhill into sharp left-hander (see pic in previous posts) ...bike in front of Sarah slows more than expected, she hauls on anchors ..I must have been glancing in my mirror at the exact same moment, look up to see her bike just a few feet in front now and I'm about to hit her, grab a big handful of brake, rear wheel comes up in a huge 'stoppie' but I'm still going to hit her, so pull harder and next think you know I'm going over the bars with the bike flipping right over on it's nose.
On the good side I managed to avoid hitting her. .....

Took a big blow to the head which had me drifting in and out of consciousness, lying in road, ribs and back hurting, paramedics concerned that I might have broken my back and strapped me to a board in a neck brace and my head strapped between two blocks. Helicopter turns up and I'm flown out to hospital.
At hospital I'm checked out, my spine and arm (which has swollen up) are X-rayed. Good news is that I bounce well apparently and my spine is fine, nothing broken, just pulled ligaments / muscles and tissue damage, some missing skin and friction burns. - 'Jobs a good 'un'.

Hi Kam, sorry to read of your misfortune, hopefully the bike isn't too damaged. I'll second Seb's question about the back protector, if you haven't already got one, get one, I never leave the house without mine now.
Take it easy fella :-)

Heal well new friend. Always better a small crash than a big one.

And as you know, these bikes are dangerous. But if they were not, what fun would it be?

I'm disappointed you weren't hanging a hand out of the helicopter window taking some pictures.

Hope you mend well.
