Nice bikes too.

That Yorkhill Egg Run, what is that? I've never seen that many sportbikes crammed in one street. Very cool!

Thanks for taking the time to look Frank Yeah we are blessed with great roads and scenery ...if only we could have great weather too! Still, 2 out of 3 ain't so bad.

The Egg Run is held most years on Easter Sunday. Bikers from the area come together and do a run through Glasgow finishing at Yorkhill Sick Children's Hospital. Everyone brings easter eggs or a donation for the hospital. Over the years it has grown and grown and folk come from far and wide . There are often up to 5000 bikes taking part and it is a real spectacle and a real 'buzz' to take part in ...as well as being for a great cause.

The picture you are talking about was taken on Kelvin Way in Glasgow and doesn't show the whole story ... after taking that pic looking backwards I turned round and took this one facing forwards!

Thanks ... I guess the secret is to take loads of pics and discard the rubbish ones (and I take plenty of rubbish ones! Lol! ) ... I tend to use my peripheral vision to aim the camera whilst still looking at where I am going on the bike.

If you like my pics ..you should see Frank's fantastic 'eye popping' pics here ...

Those Egg Run photos are crazy! I think there are more people on that run than the total number of motorcyclists in the state of Alaska. Wow!!

That's awesome! As soon as I saw the castle I recognized it. Great pics all around.

And to Travis- is this the same Travis I've seen on tv?

These are great pics and very timely too. Thinking about a Scotland bike rental trip this year. How's the weather in Scotland temperature & precipitation-wise in early May or early June?

It is quite an experience riding in such a horde of bikes ...it's worth it just for the noise alone! Lol!

Thanks ... There were two castles used in the 'Holy Grail' - Castle Stalker (above) was used for outside shots and Doune Castle (also near us) was used for the indoor 'knights of the round table' dance scene ..My daughter got married there last summer.

Few more pics :-

Ha!.... Scotland being Scotland the only predictable thing about the weather is it is unpredictable. We do get more than our fair share of rain. However, based on recent years, May can often be the best month of the summer. If I was planning a tour in Scotland I would pick May .... although, as I say ..you can't guarantee sunshine here. Certainly avoid Nov - Mar.

Thanks for the shots, they brought back a few memories. I grew up in Aberdeen before going to Uni in Edinburgh. My brother went to Glasgow and no town was big enough for both of us in those days . I spent a lot of time in Perthshire and up the west coast, walking and kayaking mostly, so recognise many of the locations. I must get up there on my bike sometime.

Thanks also for the egg run. My nephew spent the first year of his life in Yorkhill and has been back many times since. Have a pint of 80 bob on me

A-M-A-Z-I-N-G !!!

definitely one of the best threads i've seen lately. absolutely gorgeous bikes, absolutely gorgeous scenery (of course) and absolutely fantastic shots !

Can you just tell me once again more precisely how you do the shots while riding? is the cam fixed or do you just hold it in your hand? if so, where do you keep it and how do drive with a cam in your hand? seems pretty uncomfy to me..
however, the pics are worth it.

we are plannning on riding Cymri & Alba this summer with the Fazer. probably we could meet up some day, somewhere for a beer, whisky or a little ride!
keep the photos coming!
